1.
Greetings....
As a follow up to a previous post, here are some recent pics taken of a unique bridge.
Just north of where I live is the interesting little town of Frankenmeuth. The bridge is quite large and wooden spanning the Cass River.
It was a really nice sunny day when I visited and had the chance to take a few shots. However, I had to adjust the photos a bit as my developer was a bit long in the tooth and the negatives a bit thin as a result.
Anyway, wanted to share with you this interesting landmark here. Cheers!

 2.
Greetings. Received my Spotmatic F back from Eric complete with functioning meter. This is the first analog kit I've owned and am looking forward to putting it through its complete paces! I've been assembling the pieces for some time now and may swap out two non-SMC lenses in future, but for now have the spectrum covered for my needs. I have a 28 3.5 Super Multi-Coated Tak, 35 3.5 Super Tak , 50 1.4 Super Tak, 55 1.8 SMC Tak and 135 3.5 Super Tak. I went ahead and picked up the cases and caps to match, but the metal hoods are not original except for the 135 but they do the job. Here is a quick look at the kit. How about others? Anyone else enjoying their Spotty kits? Cheers!

00YcG6-351139584.jpg.56287e5df89ce65df96b9066aba3a337.jpg

 3.
Hi John-Paul -
Interesting timing for your post. I just bought one today from Amazon from fotodiox for a whopping $12 shipped. I guess I am on an adapter 'binge' of sorts. I picked up a great SRT SC ii body as back up to Spotmatic F which is with Eric for CLA and so I bought the fotodiox ring today. Along same lines, I bought a basic non-auto focus confirmation ring for my m42 to Canon EOS XTi first a month back for $15 which works fine. I love carrying a film and DSLR body around together with one set of primes (28/35/50/135). Amazing portability and I think I have a whopping $120 investment for ALL the lenses! Then my eos adapter ring with electronic chip for focus confirmation from China for $9 shipped arrived today and works great. Obviously I can't comment on the fotodiox yet, but to date they all have worked just fine.

 4.
Good morning, Ralf - The location is off Barton Drive Exit from M-14. It's the little parking area just at foot of the ramp. You can either park right at the entrance, or you can drive across the single lane bridge under M-14 to more parking in the back as in the bicycle pic above. Interesting spot!

 5.
Hi Doug...Will look forward to your local post from your Argus. I received one recently as a gift and adjusted the focus (hopefully). Cleaned out the moth from the rangefinder and seems to be reasonably bright enough to use. Am waiting for a final break in the weather to take it out for a stroll and have been toying with the idea of a 'pub crawl' this St. Patty's day with her down on Main street. Seems only fitting to break her out this spring while enjoying a bushmill's perhaps!

 6.
My previous f2.0 35mm was a bust. Something was seriously wrong with it so I took it back and exchanged it for the less expensive, but wonderfully performing f3.5 35mm Super Tak. It has a 'dot' right after 3.5 which am assuming if f/4 and allows up to f/16. Took it out for a stroll in Ann Arbor under M-14 down by the Huron River on lunch break. Was fortunate enough to find a subject or two moving about to give the photos some interest. I'm really enjoying this focal length and its diminutive size allows me to carry my Spotmatic in quite a stealth like manner. Cheers!

00YNfb-339053584.jpg.8b730a998505969c84e1cda1bbfdc94b.jpg

 7.
Good topic and response. I would enjoy hearing how others store their vintage wares also. I recently acquired a glass and wood 'buffet' cabinet from my parents. The upper part is glass shelves and front/sides and then wood frame for support, and the lower part is wooden drawers and cabinets. Air def circulates in the upper glass/wood section, but dust is greatly minimized. Would the group still advise desiccant? At what level of ambient humidity would one consider intervention? What about in the wooden drawers since they receive no light (I store film and ancillary prisms and such in them)? Thanks for topic Veronica.

 8.
I've had the chance to handle / look into a few of these and have owned one for a while now. Here are my thoughts: The likelihood of the slower speeds not working on many copies of this camera is something to consider if this is important to you. I believe that this has to do with how the shutter mechanism (and perhaps others) has an escarpment that switches over below 1/30th and is likely to be gummed up and perhaps not worth the investment to fix (I really don't anticipate using mine much on such slow speeds). The other thing to consider of course is that there is no parrelax correction, so the ability to frame super-accurately up close is a bit of guesswork (though there is an alternative guide line in the quite bright viewfinder). Last, I came to the conclusion that as a scale focus camera, I wasn't likely to get it right given the very narrow DOF to take advantage of f2.8, so I saved myself a few dollars and got the Singapore 3.5. I've been very impressed with the results to date and I enjoy using the camera. So perhaps if you can find a Singapore 3.5 where speeds at and above 1/30 work you may have no regrets and enjoy your new toy! Hope that helps.
