Peter, grazie per i tuoi complimenti. As for the colours, yes I did some manipulation to get some of that Velvia look on it. On my monitors it comes quite blue, though. So you have been living in Sicily?? Where about?
Piotr, thanks for commenting. Great portfolio you got!!! It is my dream to move and work close to such beautiful plaves.

A long exposure of 190 sec just after sunset, in a strech of coast
south of Sicily.
It was great to have this show just for me, with the delicate sound of
the sea and wind as background.
I would like to hear whether this picture moves you in some way.
thanks for commenting.

Per Yr Ole Wen is the prominet peak in BG of this picture and one of
the most dramtic mountain in North Wales, in Snowdonia National Park.
Taken last Dicemeber during a week trip for the Chrismass holidays,
this was the only day when at dawn some colours took up on the clouds.
This is one of my favourite spot in NW and I would like to share it
with you. I would appreciate to hear your honest opinions on this one.
thanks in advance.

I would like to hear your honest opinion on this one.
This was taken on the South coast of Sicily at sunset in March. The
coast is quite rocky here with lots of pebles at the bottom. I was
standing in the sea with the camera mounted on the tripod. I was
hoping to have more spectacular light at sunset since the clouds
seemed to be opening in the horizon. But in the end I just got a
glimpse of the setting sun.
thanks for commenting

South coast of Sicily. A winter evening, with approaching clouds from
North Africa that let the sun shining through before disappearing in
the sea.
Thanks for your critiques.

Ciao Paolo,
maybe not the most dramatic picture of yours from this place but still a very pleasing one for sure.
I'm impressed by the number of high-quality pictures that you are generating from this place. Have you moved there or you are now a full-time photographer??
Your use of stiching together more frames is impressive as well! I'm going give it a try.

This rocky beach in the Southern Sicilian coast was a photographic
blessing for me. Full of interesting and diverse opportunities.
This picture here was taken at sunset with the low tide revealing this
fracture full of small pebbles at its bottom.

Hi Jana,
I did sharpen the picture, but I selectively increase the amount on the log.

Location: Ashridge Forest (UK)
A intimate studio of some details in the forest floor.
I would like to know if this is working for you.
Thanks for any critiques and comments

The last colours of the sunset lingered in the clouds. The long
exposure helped in enhance them. The incoming tide started to cover
the rocks where I and the tripod were standing. After I capture this,
I narrowly managed to return to safe ground.
Any thoughts?

You know when you see all the elements coming together...
Big waves crashing on the reef, a dark sky with threatening clouds and
an opening in the horizont that lets the sun shining through.
The only problem that I got at that time was a huge abandoned pitbull
that wanted to play with me and my tripod legs! I like dogs, but a
pitbull can be quite a serious matter. Anyway I got this picture, and
by time I was sure that the dog was not dangerous the sun was already
gone...
The vignetting (intentionally added) is quite pronounced and not of
anyone taste, but I like it.
Any thoughts?

One of the most fantastic and suggestive dysplay of light that I have
ever witnessed. This morning I found the Gods of Photography
benevolently smiling down at me. ;-)
Any comments and critiques appreciated.

Capturing the last light after an intense sunset on this beautiful and
quiet beach. The joy of the silence and darkeness engulfing the
landscape...
Any honest critiques and comments always appreciated.

The coast near the village of Acitrezza is one of the most dramatic of
all Sicily. It is here that the first manifestation of volcanic
activity started and that produced what is now Mt. Etna, the tallest
volcano in Europe and one of the most active in the entire world.
Those sea stacks are the remains of such an activity and Mt' Etna's
ancestors.
This picture was captured at dawn. The sun was emerging on the left
and for a brief moment its warm light illuminated the rocks in FG.
Any honest critiques and comments are as always highly appreciated.
Thanks,

Thanks all for your comments. I'm glad that the picture is able to convey this sense of power from the sea. Being there was really an impressive experience.
As for the magenta cast, personally I think that brings a velvia look at the sky and reflections on the wet rocks.
Grazie Bruno per i complimenti. Ho dato un'occhiata veloce al tuo portfolio dove ho trovato delle belle foto. Quindi ricambio i complimenti.

This picture is all about the overwhelming power of the sea. This huge
wave (huge at least for Mediterranean standards) was entering this
small bay formed from lava rocks. Late evening light helped in
emphasizing the colours in the stormy sky.
Any honest comments and critiques are welcome.

I spent the morning on Mt Etna (visible in the background) but I knew
that the clouds could have potentiality at sunset. So I make the drive
(around 50 km) to this place. I was not disappointed.
Any critiques and comments appreciated.

This is from Mt. Zoccolaro looking inside the Ox Valley. The SouthEast
crater of MT. Etna is the prominent cone in upper part of the picture.
There is a fresh patch of lava flowing inside the valley.
This picture was taken the first of Jan. in 2007, at dawn. With my
girlfriend we started the steep hike at 4.30 am arriving in time to
see the sun coming up. However the lack of clouds made the dawn not
interesting enough for a color representation. Therefore I decided to
go for a BW. I love the frosty bush in FG but I'm not sure of the low
contrast in the sky
Would like to hear your opinion on this one.

I am not a "seascapist" as you can see from my small portfolio here on
PN. However, here is an attempt to capture the beauty of a winter dawn
in the Mediterranean sea. This particular morning of a year ago the
last remaining clouds of a passing storm took some colours from the
rising sun. The sea was very calm as you can see from the little pool
in the FG. The rocks in the near FG also picked up some delicate
colours that emphasizes the green of the sea weeds on them.
I would like to hear your honest critique on this one.

A barn build from lava with Mt Etna as backdrop.
A spectacular sunset with as bonus the moon.

I would like to share with you a view of one of my favorite place in
Snowdonia. This stream is located near Idwal lake and the view is
through the Ogwen Valley. This particular morning, dark stormy clouds
were pulling in from the sea. However, some light from the rising sun
managed to get through the clouds coloring some of them.
Hope you like it and would lone to hear your opinion on this.

Thanks all for your comments.
I agree with you that a higher focal point would be more desirable. The fact that the water flow is interrupted by the bolder was concerning me. What kept me from throwing this image away are the autumnal colors of the leaves and the wonderful texture and color of the moss in the wall of the gorge.
The bolder in the foreground is quite large. To take this shot I had to fit myself and the tripod with the camera in a crack of the bolder. Everything was extremely slippery and the position quite uncomfortable. So I didn't date to climb over it to try a higher vantage point. Moreover, I think that the composition would be lost.

In this picture I tried to capture a novel view of Fairy Glen gorge
(North Wales). I was mainly attracted by the small pool in the
foreground filled with leaves.
I would like to know whether this composition is working for you.
Thanks for looking.

My Cornish Rock (7413)
in Landscape
Posted
South coast of Sicily, March. This evening the sea was quite stormy.
Waves were crashing on the beach and splashing on the rocks around.
This rock separated from the rest of the reef attracted my attention.
The sky is not really spectacular but provides enough interesting
elements.
Any critiques and comments highly appreciated.
