    Yellow's smile

I love the title on this one. Titles are important too. They give insight into the spirit of the photo, and set the stage for the viewer. My comment may be stating the obvious but I don't think we always have this objective in mind when naming our pieces. I often have difficulty naming my pictures in an interesting way. It has to feel just right! You are obviously talented in this area too! Cheers! H

It is natural light and I was very pleased with the way it came out. I agree with you that the the corner pieces in the ceiling are distracting but at the same time I didn't want to take away the sense of space from the height. It could have been more centered but, that's the decision taken at the moment. I tend not to alter my images much. This one wasn't changed at all.

Thank you for taking the time to comment and to post a cropped image for me! I really appreciate it! Best regards, H

  1. I see you joined today! Welcome! Thanks for commenting on my photo "cool". We learn from each other from comments and not from ratings alone. I like this photo because of the depth of field and the delicate detail of the frost on the leaf. Also the contrasting dark background makes the color stand out. Well done!! H

It's actually inverted. I thought it would be more interesting to see the lilies as if they are flying or floating. I'm pretty sure I used a wide angle setting, so it picked up a curve. I'm glad it caused you to pause and wonder. Thanks for asking!! H

This one's nice too. I prefer the other one maybe because it provides a better point of reference - not cropped as much. How would this one look rotated once, counterclockwise? You have a beautiful portfolio. I will visit your pictures again! Best regards, H

    Pink Flamingos

This is like a Renaissance painting, except instead of angels and people, there are flamingos! Probably the colors contribute to this. I like the texture of the rocks and everything is so well defined. H

I love this photo! Excellent composition of colors within the frame. Great contrasts with dark tree trunk. You captured the beauty of fall colors so well! Congrats! H

This is a very nice photo. The colors and shapes and contrasts all make it stand out. The grasses in the foreground distract me. I like it otherwise.

Hi Pauline, the colours in this photo are beautiful. The grey and coral go so well together! I think it would have been more appealing to most people if at least a few of the leaves were in focus with others blurred. A little definition would bring give it a point of reference. I like the composition too. It is very soft and quiet. I like many of your photos. Best regards, H
  2. I really like this one. Like the previous comment, it took me a minute to understand that it was real. The colours are vibrant and the tricycle in the middle looks like a toy, Therefore, the scale of the figures seemed unreal. Very good shot!!

What a great scattering of light. Too bad it's not in focus. If you could blur or make the picture more abstract, the light would look like little jewels.
