What do you think? I think it's a water hyacinth, not sure though
having never seen one before.

Amazing how beautiful you can do a scene, I've been there a few times and never saw such light.

Interesting find in Northeastern Tennessee. Shot on a drizzly morning.
I'd love to know your opinions.

Ah, much better than the other one of the same butterfly. Compositionally I would have preferred a vertical crop to remove some of that empty space on the left.

Realizing how difficult this shot was, the worst thing I see is the butterfly seems to lose itself in shadow towards the thistle. I don't know if any tweaking of the curves or if raw file, in the fill light option will bring the detail in without looking unrealistic. Using 20/20 hindsight I would say a weak fill flash would have done wonders for the shot. As it were, good capture!

I agree the frame is a bit distracting. I will dissent and say the picture works well for me with all the elements in good places. I can see too that even though the horizon is at a slant the camera is level, thats the way the ground runs. Not all fields are flat like a parking lot. The low angle light is wonderful and the road breaking the foreground leads the eye to the mountains and then to the sky.

Great juxtaposition! The human element makes this picture stand out, good seeing.
