1.
Thanks Ellis and Eric, Did you notice any inconsistency with the Canon 580 EX II and TT1 and TT5 over 20 feet away? Do you still need to use the shield or the 'sock'?
Here is a NOTE for the PW Plus with 580 exII Flash:
Did you notice the PW Plus II will not work with Canon 580 exII over 20 feet, I discovered that a year ago but not sure if things have changed. Share your story here. Thanks everyone.

  2.
I have purchased the PW TT1 + Flex TT5 at least a year ago finding out a lot of issue with the 580 EX II flash signal issue matching with the PW. I have received the Shield 'socks' for the flash that is what I call it and a hotshoe mount, played few time and gave up since it is not consistency so it is sitting there. Now I wonder if anyone got it working with over 20 feet away with TTL mode. Thanks for reading.

  3.
I have been trying to find out if anyone is using a Blu ray burner for Mac on the net but having a tough time, I hope someone is using the Blu ray burner can you tell me which one you are using and what software? Thanks for reading my question. Btw I have a Mac book Pro plus Imac therefore an external Blue Ray is the only way!

  4. If you are a true professional photographer you will understand work is work play is play, if i was invited for a wedding I would not

bring my camera since last thing i want is worry where my camera is while dancing with my wife. This is the time to remember why

we got marry instead of being selfish doing what I love. If you are single it is time to social and enjoy the evening, leave the Hire

    photographer do his job.

  5.
Hi Duff,
Digital DSLR has been so great for taken night photos, I wonder have you made any attend to do few test shoot. If you can post a photo so we can address your need, I'm sure when I call my doctor and told him I'm not feeling well, I'm not sure how he can help without knowing my symptoms. Sorry if I'm being too straight!

  6.
This engagement session just finish off over the weekend in Coal Harbour Vancouver, BC. A beautiful place for portrait. There are few thing I would like to improve the portrait but would like to hear from anyone. It is a learning experience, thanks everyone. Wayne Lam. No Hard feelings! I use my flash as a bounce or fill, my main flash is held by my assistance maybe that is why I don't see bracketing flash works well. It is hit or miss and I'm sure your flash power goes down very quickly, last thing I want to do is my flash slows down and missing an important shoot. My two cents!

  8.
Just when you thought HD is one of the best thing for Documentary wait until you see the Next Wave of 3D Stereoscopic Video. I believe the 3D technology will make a big impact in our daily life + Entertainment, it will change the way we work. Even though I know we need 3D Glasses but in no time it will be the pass. 3D TV is getting better and affordable and very soon most household will have a 3D TV.
Here is a question for the Professional who is making a living in video. Would you be the first one to explore this new tool? Are you the leader or the Follower? Let's hear your voice.
Thank you
9.
The money I was planning to build around my 5D Mark II is getting more expensive for shooting a good HD Video since I was waiting for the EVF and debating which Rig to get. After waiting and counting what I need for the right job, I have decided to use the 5D Mark II as a B-Roll camera. I find getting the right exposure and focus part is tricky when lighting and subject changes often. Love to hear other feel back. Thanks.

  10.
Light them even use a light meter and careful with the green spill over onto hairs. If your Green Screen is thin light might pass through it therefore causing issue for removing the green. Hope your program works well because I can't search for the software. Most people use After Effect to do the job but again I would test it out first before taking on the task because it can be harder than you think base on your photoshop skills. Let us know how well it turned out.

  11.
Maybe is me, there are a lot of setting in the camera flash that are very helpful but one thing for sure I would never use flash bracket on a pay job. I want to catch the moment not guessing my work. Learning how to use a flash is an important skill for a working Professional Photographer, it is not an easy task and it does take skill and time. If you want to get the photo in this case I would try use Shutter priority but again without some of a better lens in the dark environment you will need to crack up the ISO result more noise. Good luck and let us know how well it turned out! After years of school training there are still a lot of learning....learning never stop.

  12.
After Shooting the 5D Mark II + 7D, there are Pros and Cons of each camera but I can tell you my main Camera is 5D Mark II. Color is beautiful and tight area allows me with my 17mm, 21mm or my 35mm to do the job without worry of cropping. If you are planning to shoot with HD Video in the future the 5D Mark II hands down! Shooting fast movement is not the best choice for this camera but at the end I'm sure you know which camera to choose. Btw, I'm sure resale value for the 5D Mark II will holds its value within the stand of time. Good Luck!

  13.
Hi Emily,
To add this with my experience, I own the 5D Mark II since it came out and have been testing and shooting video for about a year (mostly my own project). I was planning to use it as my main wedding camera but now use it as a B-roll Video camera, great images no doubt but using it for a moving shoot can be tricky since it is a CMOS sensor. To make the story short it is not much fun to watch the video clips when there are constant of movement, I shot mostly on tripod. If you do shoot like a camcorder you better spend some money on a shoulder rig and a follow focus. DSLR rig can be costly, you will need a LCD monitor with peaking and false color function, external mic plus external recorder like Zoom h4n. There are other things you need to beware: you will need to re-compress the files to be able to edit the files. Hope I didn't scare you. Go to Philip Bloom's site to learn more of the basic workflow. Just because one group of people loves the camera doesn't mean it will work for you but at the end the quality of the camera is beautiful if it meets your need?
Cons:
-Focus need Professional Monitor with peaking and False Color Functions
-Need a shoulder Rig or a tripod to keep it smooth
-No Auto focus on video mode since it is all manual setting to focus
-Need to re-compress files to a workable format
-limited of recording time
Pros:
-Great 5K still images
-Great video with low light base on you Prime lens
-Can use as a DSLR camera
-Great for time lapse tool

  14.
Hi Susan,
Base on what you are looking for? Are you using DSLR to shoot HD video? Using Final Cut Studio 2 to do work? The above link is a good start but Macbreak is a good Professional itune free subscribe, you get a lot from there.

Good luck

  15.
Hi David,
I do work alone but I hire an assistance to help out, they are worth every dollar since they help more than watching over the equipment. If you need to get few things in your car while you are busy shooting your assistance is few step away. I think any Professional Wedding Photographer don't have an assistance is missing out, it is not the money it is the TIME management.

Hope this help

  16.

I bought my TT1 and TT5 for the Canon 5D Mark II in last Christmas time, it has some issue. The shoe mount broke easily and it was not consistence firing due to the software with 5D Mark II and no shield at that time.
Btw they are fixing my shoe mount in Canada here and thanks to Lens and Shutter on West Vancouver doing a great warranty work for me. Thanks guy! Recently I have updated the software from PW and is working better but not perfect since I do not have the shield. Anyhow, with all this issue I bough another TT5, so now I have one TT1 and two TT5. I have PW Plus and multimax for my work but they don't work well in the sunlight. The TT1 and TT5 are radio transmitter therefore works better.
I have the chance to do a paid assignment and have few shoot did not fire but once they do they look great. Now I just need to talk to the rep to get my shield for free in Canada here if I'm lucky. The TT1 and TT5 also works with my older PW too, which is a plus for me, next I will set up a remote flash using the PW. It is not a perfect system but it is getting better. Hope this help!

  17.
Hi Amanda Lock,
I'm a full time wedding photographer and use an Epson 3000.
It can download different types of Memory cards, you can download video but not HD video. It has large screen and has a huge HD but it will not play quicktime unless there is a plugin somewhere I'm not award of. Love it and use it to travel and back up my works and as a media and music player. This is an older unit I have few years ago therefore a newer and better out there. You pay for what you get just like camera body and lenses. If you need something quality I would give it 8 out of ten. Hope this help. Cheers!
