Thanks for the comment! The color on the hill is actually how it is. Unlike the canyon, (Navajo sand stone) Zion east side is not all red rock ---for example Checkerboard mesa. I believe this layer of rock is known as the White cliffs.

I like the composition and the monochromatic nature of the image: color image and yet looks B&W. The further zigzags look a little bit out of focus, maybe use a tripod and increase depth of field?

This is quite funny actually to see these animals lying around like that. I would like to see a slightly wider view so that we can see their heads ---they have quite remarkable expressions on their faces.

Very good composition and colors on the snow, but the sky lacks color: as of now it is a washed out white. On a good sunset day, you can probably get a nice red on the sky and a blue on the snow which will reinforce each other. For example see

The best of the reflection abstracts in your portfolio. I love the way the white and blue contrasts. It would be nicer if you could maybe get a stronger composition ---as of now the mostly blue diagonal which separates green reflections on the left from the white ones on the right lack sterength. Another thought might be that if you come back at sunset/sunrise there will be orange/red light on the building which is causing the white ripples and you;ll get a nice contrast between red/blue ripples.

I agree with the previous poster about the snow color: needs a stop of more exposure. The patterns would look better (i) if you could stay away from the distracting branch and (ii) shoot down more vertically which will emphasize the grid pattern more strongly.

I also prefer a cropped version which strengthens the image by focusing more on the cyclist.

Hi Ritu,
I like the composition and the blur. Choosing a cyclist with contrasting colors was a great idea. Since you have chosen to blur the image, I assume you are after an effect of abstract moving colors: but the colors elsewhere seem a bit washed out. Maybe you should slightly later in the evening when the colors in the sky would be darker and the neon lights will be more saturated.

It is done in the afternoon : way easier than waking
up early in the morning :).

I would like to hear people's comments on this. Does the composition
work or is it too bare and stark? There is a
href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=2146500">companion
which has a more complex composition, but has otherassociated problems too.

Amazing. Reminds me of line drawings by Escher!

Great lighting and clouds. But is the horizon kind of tilted? There is no clear horizon, but somehow there are a lot of parallel vertical lines which are not quite vertical.
-
Interesting treatment of the diffuse light. The tree has a lot of interesting details and the shape of the branches are very strong. IMO, with a diffuse treatment, the strength of the excellent composition has been undermined.

There was a recent thread in the nature forum asking if wildlife photography is boring to the viewer. This picture is the best response to that thread. Great capture!

Very impressive cloudscape. It will be nicer if you could have a more interesting foreground. The power of the clouds is not well reflected on the ground. Maybe one could have put the ocean in the forground instead of land.

Well executed. What detracts from the shot is that the out of focus areas have strong dark and bright contrasts. I guess one can't do much about it, it is not that you have a choice where the butterfly will land :).

Great use of backlight to intensify the color of the leaves in opposition to the dark tre trunk. The only pick I would have is the dilution of the red rocks by blue light from the sky. I always wish that I had all the time in the world to come back to promising places when the light would be even better.

Beautiful picture. The reflections on the leaves look a little bluish -- a polarizer and/or a warming filter would make it even better.

I love the point-like stars : I have never been able to get a night picture without the stars showing visible trails. The time looks more like evening than 12:30AM. It will be even better if you could avoid the cars somehow.
