IMHO the nose is too sharp respect the rest of the face skin, you see just that if you look the picture from a certain distance. The rest is perfect.

The picture is telling something like an old pirates story ...

The sky colors are great, you get the correct chromaric balance with the subject.

I would align the horizon before framing the shot ... is quite evident.

Good choice regarding the weather. It merges smoothly the grey of the water and the buildings. The sprayed red colors gives the photo a good impact.

Ilona, I feel some unbalanced aspect in your composition, but I cannot figure out a suggestion to give. Perhaps the horizon line is too centered, or too border space beside the tree on the right.

Hi Bart, great composition.

I's not common the asymmetrical cut of the face. You get a nice result anyway. The light is wonderful too. The children expression does not communicate suffering or other sad feel, giving the best of the whole picture.
