I wanted to respond to Jerry whom I appreciate took the time to make an extensive review. Yes, the model has pale skin. But I intentionally exaggerated this by producing a moderately high-key portrait. I liked the dramatic effect of this high key treatment. I appreciate the fact that this is not to your taste, and that's fine, but the "flatness" was intentional. I did maintain more detail in the skint than a full blown high key.

 

Your point about the contrast of the hair and background is also well taken. My only defense is that there was enough light on the hair that you can still discern every detail.
