I recently developed a roll of Arista Premium 400 in d-76 and noticed it was more grainy and had far more contrast than the 400 films i usually use such as fuji and hp5 and i was wondering if anybody had the same experiences with Arista Premium 400 or did i do something wrong or could my chemistry be off? I don't have a ton of experience with film so any feedback would be greatly appreciated... i also checked the mass dev chart on digitaltruth and there is 2 different times... one at 8 mins and one at 6.75 was which i used.

Anyone know of any reasonably priced P&S with the option of capturing RAW files that is around $250 or less and fairly portable (smaller than G9 or G10)?

Anybody have any recommendations or experience with an inexpensive lens for the canon 10s film camera? I'm looking to for a wide to standard zoom focal length lens mainly for shooting black and white film and color slide film. Not looking to spend too much money on a lens since I already have a lens that I use with my digital slr that I am quite happy with and have no intentions of switching to a full frame dslr any time soon, so any advice or recommendations will be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Need a UV filter just to protect my investment and was wonder which filter is
better? A regular non multi-coated Heliopan or a Multi-Coated Hoya HMC Super
(black label) filter? And for future reference, which company makes the better
filters overall?

Anyone ever had any experience using this lens on a Rebel XTi? I was looking
to purchase a Canon 70-200mm f/4L and every site that I've been to gave it rave
reviews, but it isn't too much more expensive than the Sigma and the Sigma has
better specs. My biggest concerns are picture sharpness and autofocus speed and
I've tried some third party lenses that have what I considered to be sub-par
autofocusing. I'm looking for a lens that I'll be able to shoot indoor and
night sports because some of my family will be attending high school soon, but
something that I can carry around when I travel without breaking my back. Any
insights or opinions about the Sigma or the Canon lens would greatly be
appreciated.

Looking for an all purpose lens to leave on my Canon Digital Rebel XTi and
having a difficult time deciding between the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8 USM L or
Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 USM IS. I am most interested mostly in landscape and
night photography and occasionally indoor. All the reviews that I've read for
both lenses seem to be very positive and I am having a terrible time deciding
which lens to purchase. Any advice or reasons for or against either lens would
be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Which camera is more bang for it's buck? The XTi has 10 megapixels, a sensor
cleaner and is a few hundred dollars less... but I've also heard that there's a
underexposure problem with some cameras, it's smaller and doesn't feel as
sturdy... the 30D is a little more expensive, but has spot metering and is a
faster camera... are the features in the 30D worth the extra couple hundred or
would I be fine with the XTi... I mostly shoot landscapes and local events just
for kicks but looking to expand my horizons... Any advice from owners or users
would be very helpful, thanks

Would there be a difference with taking pictures at a larger aperature, faster shutter speed and smaller aperature, slower shutter speed?

Looking to take some pictures at a fair with a 35mm slr camera and was wondering
if there would be a difference with taking pictures at a larger aperature,
faster shutter speed and smaller aperature, slower shutter speed? If so, what
would the differences be? Also how well will ISO 100 film work at night? Would
ISO 400 film be better?

Actually looking carefully at the Ritz website, I noticed their filters are made by Marumi Optical Co...

I'm looking to purchase some filters for my camera and I'm not too sure what
company produces good quality filters. I was looking at Quantaray filters
because they seem to be fairly inexpensive compared to some other brands, but
noticed they have gotten mixed reviews from people, but I also heard they were
made by Hoya. Anyone have any experience with Quantaray filters? Any
recommendations on a brands?

If I do adjust for the filter factor for the R72, does this change the development time? If so by how much?
