  1. Welcome to the friendliest forum on the web Natasha. The K100D is a great camera and you should have a lot of fun with it. I like your picture. Great setting and good use of DOF. As Miserere mentioned previously, there is great free post processing software out there for you to use. Please keep posting your pictures for us all to see. Good Luck.
  2. Welcome to the friendliest forum on the web Natasha. How did you like working with the Pentax K100D? It is a very good camera. I sure like your picture. Nice use of the DOF. Beautiful setting. Please keep posting your pictures for all of us to see. Good Luck.
  3. Well as Max Yasgar said at Woodstock "I'm only a farmer". Well in my case I am just a beginning digital

photographer who has been bidding on Ebay to try and pick up a Tamron 1.4x teleconverter. I gave up weeks ago

when they were going for around $250.00 to $320.00. Finally Pentax is coming out with a 1.4x TC that I am hoping

won't cost more than $300.00. To hell with Tamron, I will be glad to buy Pentax.

  4. These five photos were taken on my way up to the Lake/at the Lake on Friday night. All shots were taken with my Tokina AT-X PRO 28-70mm. Hope you enjoy. Comments/suggestions as usual are more than welcome.<div>00QA2R-56887684.jpg.8212c3026458d2736e3f89cf2da0d665.jpg</div>
  5. I have the Tokina AT-X Pro 2.6/2.8 28-70mm and love it. Thanks to Michael K & Mis for a lot of advice I waited like a

cat for it to show up on Ebay and grabbed it for a buy it now price of around $235.00. New in box, it is a great lens a

bit heavy maybe but still an outstanding lens.

  6. Absolutely right Mis. Perhaps I should have said "reflected" instead of refraction. Do I get any marks cause both start with re...............:) As usual, you answered the question with excellent reference points.
  7. Javier, I am assumming that you are referring to the fact that you can turn a circular polarizer. If I am incorrect in my assumption I apologize. You turn the circular polarizer until you get the correct polarization effect. You can test this by taking a picture of water or just use clouds in the sky. You will notice the whiteness and puffiness of the clouds increase as you turn the polarizer. By turning the polarizer, you can adjust the refraction of the light rays. Adjust it to where it looks the best and then shoot away. Hope this helps.
  8. Duane, I am chomping at the bit. My wife and I are going to "the Rock" for a week the middle of June. Looking forward to taking some pics of the bergs as well as whale watching for Humpies/Blues. Any tips on where we should go for the best opportunities?
  9. Excellent pictures all. I am waiting with baited breath here in Saskatchewan for spring (had 18 inches of snow last Monday) to hit and can't wait to get outside with my macro. Thanks to all for Insectia Supremo.
