I meant "wider" not "longer" horizons, but you get the point.

simplicity is correct and cropping to make a nice calander photo is ok if that's what you like, I myself am more interested in longer horizons but that's just taste. Brining out the clouds is a mistake, the subject here is the bridge not the clouds, I want to walk over it when I look at this photo maybe to go look at that tree over there on the right.

just my take, but I found the colors more distracting than the over/under exposer. I just messed around a bit in photoshop.
