<p>Winfried, I can't find any set screw anywhere on the lens barrel, and no rubber/leatherette covered parts either. But thanks for the info anyway, I'm sure this knowledge will come in useful someday when I need to disassemble other lenses.<br> Gus, thanks for the suggestion. I've already tried similar tools (what I referred to as "rubber lens ring remover tools" in my first post), but the front nameplate bezel is still jammed tight.</p>

<p>Does anyone know how to remove the front element of the Rollei HFT Sonnar 40/2.8 LTM lens? My lens has heavy haze on the rear surface of the front element. In order to clean it I need to remove this element but I have difficulty removing the front retaining ring (the one with lens details engraved) of the lens. It has no notches for lens wrench, I have tried two different types of rubber lens ring remover tools (also tried using these with double sided tape so they grip the retaining ring better) but still couldn't unscrew it. Any suggestions?<br /> Thanks in advance.</p>
