Thanks all. The Indian Nikon site has only AF DC-Nikkor 135mm f/2D. However, I could see Nikon 135mm f/2.8 Nikkor AI-S in some other sites. So I thought the f 2.8 one is not in market

Thanks all for important information. Generally I take portraits and general stuff using my 50mm 1.4. Occasional wildlife when I cross the highway through the forest. My question on 80-200 is if it is of an earlier version and parts are not available, why Nikon India still selling it? See the link below:

Thanks Ilkka. For candid portraits and wildlife?

Is any version of AF-S 80-200mm f/2.8 has VR? I am using D 7000. SHall I go for this one or 70-300?

Thank you all. I think most of you suggest 85mm 1.8 ( 85mm 1.4 is better but expensive.)

-

Thanks all for valuable suggestions. What about 85mm 1.4 D? Is it still available? Is it work with DX like d7000?

Just checked Nikon Web site, they mentioned “beautiful blur effect” only 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.4J

Thanks all. I found 35mm is the only lens I have right now. Which one, 85 1.8G or 50 1.4G, has better bokeh? I read gud reviews about 85mm1.4 but too expensive for me. I do like 35mm but not great for portraits.

Hi
I am Anil from India. I am looking for portrait lens to compliment my 35 1.8 G on D7000. Shall I go for 50mm 1.4G or 85mm 1.8 G. Price is almost same here in India. Please suggest. Thanks in advance.

Thanks all. So shall I need to keep 50 ( 1.8) in case am getting 17-50 n0n-VC version?

I am planning to buy Tamron 17-50 ( 2.8) for my D7000. Which version shall I buy? Also , at 50mm is it as good as Nikon 50 (1.8)?

Peter and Eric
If it is 17/18 - 50 /55, which one shall i get, Sigma / Tamron/ Tokina ? all of them have multiple versins in 2.8 .

-

Thanks for the responses. Was thinking about Tamron 28-75 as I didn't find good reviews about sigma and Tamron 17- 50 ( 2.8). I am not sure whether i will be able to get good copy of Tamron 28-75 in shops here in Delhi ( Not sure I will able to test it that quickly) . What about Tokina 11- 16 and Nikon 35mm combo?
Wouter, yes right now I have only 50 mm 1.8.

Hi
I mean IQ, sharpnes, color and bokeh etc.

I am using Nikon 50 mm 1.8 with my D 7000. I am thinking of getting something wider. Shall I go for Nikon 35 1.8 or any 3rd party standard zooms 17 -50 ( 2.8) or tamron 28-75? Can tamron 28-75 give same results as 50 and 35 primes?

-

Thanks. Another question is about auto focus. 50 1.8 is AF not AF S. What is the advantage of AF S lenses? Is this difference matter with D 7000?

Tele Lens for D7000
in Nikon
Posted

Hi
I am using 50 mm lens with my D 7000. Thinking of adding a tele lens. Which will be a better choice – prime 180 ( f2.8), 70-300 vr, or 70-200 f4? I have used 70-200 ( f2.8) once on rent and couldn’t use it much as it is so big and heavy. It is for general purpose like events, birds etc. I have read that 70-300 is good till 200 only, is it so?
