I know I'm late to answer J. Harrington - in regards to a crop. No this is not a crop, it's the full sensor shot on a DX sensor. Thank you for asking....

Just saw this.... A tad late so I'm sorry...
No, no flash on this. Long exposure on tripod.
Thanks
Lil :-)

Most kind of you to comment. I'm glad you enjoy.

Shun,
not only is the shot excellent - - it's also adorable. Those pups are just too cute.
The whole gallery is excellent.... Very inspirational to me.

It was actually a rather warm afternoon during the summer. Though the wind did come up some. More a feeling of afternoon nap....
Thanks for visiting my gallery.

Western Scrub-Jay detail. Long story short. I was working on my
"natural light" squirrel setup when this bird showed up & stole the
peanuts from the squirrels. I'd been trying to catch him/her with the
camera for months with no luck. I got two shots in - this one & the
second which did not turn out. So this "thief" steals from our local
family of squirrels....
This is shot in manual mode, ISO 200, 1/320 s., f/4,5, 70-200mm f/2.8
Nikkor lens on my Nikon D200 at 190mm. Shot is cropped with very
little post processing.
Feedback will be most appreciated.

I've been going through your galleries & you have so many lovely shots. Then I saw this one.... I just love it. It's simple, yet so elegant. Subjects, colors, "lines" all come together beautifully in this shot. So powerful.
Thanks for sharing this & all your other travels here on photo.net - - what travels you must have.

So tell me - - on all these shots - - what kind of E.V. settings were you using to keep from blowing highlights? Did you use a polarizer?

LOL
Shun,
I love all your shots, but this one is a capture for sure. So much attitude. Just simply love it. Got to wonder if it's having a bad hair/feather day or is plain "mad" about something. ;-)

Shun,
for the first time I've checked out your gallery here. Wonderful shots. My nephew used to call penguins Ping-Pings when he was little. I like penguins & envy you the experience of having seen them in person in Antarctica. Now I know two people who've made this trip & the experience must have been something out of this world.
I imagine this is the light making the ice blue - - but there is such a thing as blue ice.
Super fun shot.

Simon,
just wanted to tell you I love this shot. Something I would have shot if I'd run across it. Los Angeles is so dry my body feels all dried up. This looks like something I could take for a while to say the least.
Also, always wanted to visit Derbyshire, but don't believe I ever have. But then.... I've not been to England in 30 years.

I have to make a decision. That's for sure. I did send you an e-mail. Are there any more shots from this lens here?

Hi,
love this shot. Help me a little. I like to do wildlife photography @ own a D200. I also have a 300mm f/4 AF-S nikkor lens which I shoot with a TC-17E II, but I find that if I put that on & try to do BIF I find myself searching the sky to find them in camera. Drives me nuts as the birds are gone before I have a chance to locate them. So I want to get a zoom. I can't afford the 200-400VR. I keep thinking a MF 500 f/4 - - but I'm too slow to focus (and I do mean slow).
Would you recommend this lens for me?
Thanks for input. I know someone who's trying to sell a used one he only used for a few days & I can get it at a deal, but he sent me a few unsharpened jpgs at 500mm so on the soft side & hardly something to judge by. Feedback from another Nikon shooter will be highly appreciated.
Thanks
Lil
