Dear mr Kennedy,
To answer your question,
My goal for this portrait was to get a very sharp focus on the eyes.
I always shoot manual, this to challenge myself, and to have complete control.
The whole cat in focus is easily achieved, by taking a step back, and add an F-stop to the exposure, but that was not my intention.
This would result in a very ordinary photograph of a (nice) cat.
For me this portrait was ok, because the picture draws attention to the eyes, and the sun enlightens the earshells, exactly as I hoped it would do.
Thanks for commends,
Regards,

Hi,
Very well done! Nice tone. I like the picture very much, except.... the title!
It is not a grasshopper at all!

Hi,
Is it a bee?
Could be a Bombylius major (don't know the English name). These are sheeplike flies, hovering around flowers, sucking honey with their long snout. Typically the humming is very high pitched.
Beautiful capture.

Beautiful picture
The two spots on the right are fish also?
Like the sunbeams on his head and trunk.
