Yes Gerald,I saw a brand new for 199.99 the standard 75-300 sigma,not the APO one,this one is a little bit more expensive but not a big deal,both do a perfect job,the APO one got aspherical glass,add 150.00$.

Of course your sigma work with the k10d but DA lens its the newest version for Pentax digital its full compatible at 100% for metering,flash,the CCD and more but there is nothing wrong with your sigma,can do a perfect job.By the way a 75-300 will be great for a safari to and you can get one for around 200.00$ and the sigma one do a beautiful job.

I think you mean shake reduction and dust removal,not the same,dust removal is for removing dust on your sensor and shake reduction is for the vibration you have have when slow speed and the noise in the sensor,this thing help.Pentax its in the body,nikon its in the lens,both do the same job,some people said in the lens its better and some said in the body its better,what ever,do the same job.The dust removal its when you have dust on the sensor,they remove it,but you have different way to do it,if you have dust in the view finder,we are not talking the samething,advantage for Pentax,you can remove your focusing screen to clean it but nikon or canon,if you have a dust particule in the inner side, send the camera to the tech,outer side,you can remove it easy yourself.

Hi,UV for ultra violet filter and N for neutral,if you want protection for your lens,go with the N,ultra violet can change a little bit the color density but not a big deal,,,,,,,go for N

Roland,you can remove your card,HOLD menu button,turn on your camera in the same time,wait 1 or 2 second,always holding menu button,your version number appear on the LCD monitor.

I agree with Dave,missing power,better do with a full charge battery,I just do mine (K10D).The best way for me is using a card reader,is very simple,download the firmware,install a blank formated SD card in your card reader,right click to your firware,extract file to your disc (may be H,J,what ever is your card reader,remove your card,install in the camera,turn on your camera holding menu,update appears and follow the instruction on your LCD monitor,very simple but if you miss something you have to WAIT 5 minutes before re start your update,if you retry inside 5 minutes your upgrade don`t start,but if the power shut off during the loading,,your done,,send to pentax,there is no any fix by yourself.

Well,what a nice pictures with Pentax machine,this is great,thank you for posting PENTAX performance.

Oil inside the lens is because not using enough,after sitting for a while you can see oil and its normal,(ex) i have a lens,not using for 2 years,oil inside the blade,bring to the technician,cost me 50.00$ and the lens is like brand new,works great.

Your choice of lenses are ok,but i suggest for portrait a lens around 70 to 100 range like the Pentax 70mm 2.8(ex),I have one and the lens is sharp and clean for portraits and I talk with a Pentax rep yesterday and he told me there more new great lens comming soon but he never told me the range,its a surprise he said and about the price for the K10D,I will be surprise if the price go down again,you can get that body for around 800.00$ CAD,I think this is the lower price you ca have,but we never know,will see in 2 or 3 months.

The 18-55 is a very good and sharp lens ,of course the 16-45 is a little bit better.Now,wich one are more crisp and sharp,I don`t think so you can see a large difference.I suggest to take the difference money and buy the 70mm (ex)or a 55-200.

I just read under why pentax drop the price,my opinion is because Pentax got the

real price for the gears compare to nikon and canon.Don`t tell me because

Pentax is a cheaper camera,nikon and canon are crazy about the price for

camera.I shoot nikon for years,and i just bought a Pentax K10D and i can compare

my images with nikon,my images with the K10D are fabulous,the construction is

great,the Pentax lens are super,i have a 16-55 2.8,images is so crisp and sharp

its unbeleivable.Nikon its finish for me,i sold all my nikon gears for replace

to Pentax gears.My friends got a nikon D200,we compare the K10D with is D200 and

is comming crazy about the Pentax,so he bought a K10D yesterday.Another guy for

nikon will be over.NIkon D200 is around 2000.00$ and Pentax 1000.00$,so the

diference for the money you can by more great lenses and if Pentax replace the

K10D in the future,the price will be reasonable to compare to nikon or

canon,check the price for the D300 now if you want to replace your D200.

 

Just saying Pentax is more reasonable and you have the same quality compare to

nikon or canon,lot a peoples buy nikon or canon for the name brand,sometimes

they have cheaper camera but its a nikon or a canon.

make sure your flash is completely charge,but it supose to recharge very fast after shooting and it supose to fire all the time to.May be your contact between the flash and the camera its not tight enough but will be surprise if its the case,i suggest a technician take a look.

Shun is wright and all any nikon with lcd is like that.

we are not supose to touch the sensor with any kind of instrument,what i suggest is what i do all the time and never had problem,use air can but go with short shot,if you have a costco near you,best place to buy it,pack of 3 can.

try another battery,sometimes battery can give you (free game)I had one like that,if the camera do the same after a new battery,send for repair.

Albert,the 90mm or 127mm or 110 for RZ,all those lenses are sharp,depend with focal you like,,,,,,I prefer 110,the guy beside you like the 90 and the other one like the 127,,,what ever,,,so buy one of those lenses,depend what is the more versatile for you and you gone a have the sharpness one way or the other.

Hi Nick,tell you one thing,ebay its finish for me,i bought items from ebay and all the gears had problems,some item i receive back my money and some items its in my junk box in the basement(no money back)peoples who don`t want buy some gears in the store well you fint it on ebay because its to rough,ding or dents,mal function,they try to pass that crap on ebay,sometimes you can have somehing in good condition but not all the times.Do you think its normal to get an RZ with a lens,back,prism, for 500.00$ and don`t tell me because the digital is there and you can get a medium format for nothing,PRO FILM is not done yet.Get a nice RZ at a reasonable price and in the future you can get a digital back for a reasonable price to,don`t buy nothing at 450.00$ the complete kit its ridiculus,i have an RZ and its almost 20 years old and its still brand new and i still use it so spend a little bit more and you gone a have somethings great.

D200 or wait for the D300.

Hi,with the d200 or any nikon or canon dslr,you can`t compose an image with the lcd like a point and shoot camera,now you have a camera in your hand,enjoy it.

I try mine for you,if i focus something and i depress again,i can hear the motor readjust the lens but not all the time, the focus led inside the viewfinder stay on,that mean your subject is on focus and if i depress for the third time on the same subject,readjust the lens again but still on focus but like i`m saying not all the time so i think its normal and i never had a subject out of focus with that camera.

I bought my d200 december 2005,now its almost 2 years nikon introduce the d200,so of course they gone a replace soon,today when a model past 2 years,they replace it by new tecnology if we look the d50 to the d40,d70 to the d70s,the d70s to the d80,they replace those models inside 2 years,so the d200 for the d200s or d200x what ever its comming.Now what is the best decision,buy the d200 or wait for the next one,I heard about the next nikon generation suppose to be full frame at reasonable price.
