would this problem be magnified by leaving the batteries in my battery grip when I'm not using the camera?
-
Theres nothing wrong with the 30D, but I'm selling my 20D and some lenses and all the accessories I have for the 20D, and
I really am set on lenses, so I thought a camera upgrade would be a nice way to reinvest my money.

So my BP-511 batteries have been acting strangely as of late. They will sit on my chargers (I have two) and the chargers will say that they
are charged right off the bat, even when they are dead in my camera. Sometimes I will leave them on the charger for a few hours and they
will charge and sometimes not. I have no idea what the issue is, but it's really unnerving to know my batteries might die out instantly while
i'm on assignment. What might the problem be?
-
Haha, no thanks. I will be purchasing from B&H as always!
What are the micro adjustments? I haven't heard anything about that, and two of my lenses are Sigmas.

OK, so. This is a hypothetical question for now, but for only a few months. I'm hoping after the holiday seasons
that Canon bodies will drop prices. Whether they do or not, I will be looking at 40Ds and 50Ds as an upgrade from
my 30D.
I looked at the specs for both and they seem to be pretty much the same aside from resolution and ISO
capabilities. So is there a reason to buy the 50D or should I just go with the 40D, price aside of course.
I have a fairly spread out photojournalism regimen; sports, speeches and indoor events with poor lighting. I'm looking
at these cameras that have all around quality. I think the 5D is out of the question with sports on my plate. 4 FPS
just isn't fast enough.

That makes a lot of sense, I could see the safari thing being and issue. I'm not a fan of the ThinkTank backpack models, would there be other brands like it? I personally was looking at the NG models just because they look like they would be good for everyday wear. As a photojournalist, I carry a body and few lenses EVERYWHERE and then Tamrac Adventure 9 I have now screams "look out camera gear" when I want to be keeping a low profile. So I'm really looking for more of a discreet backpack-y look.
Though, whipping out the 70-200 isn't really a silent way of getting photos....

Anyone know what canon gear can fit in this bag? I'm shooting with a Canon setup, 40D with grip, 70-200 2.8, sigma
24-60 2.8 and a 580EX, batteries and assorted accessories. Anybody actually seen or held this bag?
Thanks

After reading up on Super CCD sensors, one question is in the back of my mind. How does the editing process
change between shooting with a Canon DSLR and shooting with a Super CCD sensor? Will editing in CS3 become
more difficult or impossible with the diagonal lines and different shaped pixels? I think I have a basic understanding of
both Super CCD and Adobe Photoshop, but I cannot get my head around how the Super CCD would have to same
editing methods as other DSLRs. If the camera model would affect the answer to this question, the camera in
question is a Fujifilm S2 Pro.

Nikon mounts are confusing to me, a steadfast Canon user. Will a Nikon Nikkor 28-85mm F3.5 function with a Fujifil
S2 pro?
-
Is there a brand that you favor most?
-
I'm buying a Fujifilm Finepix S2 Pro to play with. I've been shooting with Canon for years and want to just see what
other brands look like and feel like to use. Unfortunately I know that it takes Nikon F mount lenses. Which brands
and models outside of nikon will be accepted on the camera?
Thanks

I have been working recently with a EOS 20D and a 30D interchangelably, I think I may have switched the battery
doors while I was changing battery grips. I had some issues with the 30D powering off and starting back up while I
was shooting. Are the battery doors not identical and that's why I'm having issues, or should I get it looked at? Since
then I have had no problems with it, but I don't want to go out on a shoot and have it die on me. What should I do?

I think the 430EX would be a great buy, but I would be using the 380EX only as a backup if the 580EX from my office is signed out. I know I will feel underequipped, but it's more of a precaution.
Thanks for the help!

Awesome, I think I will go with the 380EX just due to the price of the 580EX. I basically only use a flash for outdoor night events, due to the fact that all of my lenses are 2.8 or less.
-
I haven't got a lot of time to look this up today, so I'm asking here. Will the Canon Speedlite 380EX work with my 20D
and 30D the same way the 430EX and the 580EX or is it priced lower because it will not work on full auto with newer
cameras?
-
Wow that's really cool. I think it will give me a lot more range in editing landscapes

All of my lenses are marked MC. I looked up the http://members.aol.com/manualminolta/index.htm and looked at the spreadsheet about mounts and got the gist of it, but some things remain unclear, mostly because I don't know the chronological order of the Minolta models. I found online, for cheaper than a hand meter, an X-7a. Now what will the pitfalls and advantages be due to the fact that my lenses are all MC?
)I found this camera and it came with two lenses, a teleconverter and winder for $20.00)
-
I have an old Minolta SRT-201 camera with a few assorted lenses, mostly Vivitar. The metering does not function on
this so I'm looking for a new body. I can't find a list of cameras that are compatible with the lenses I have. Are there
any cameras outside of the SR and SRT models that would work? I think this is the most suitable forum for this
query, if it isn't..sorry

DPP works great on my ibook! I used it all weekend and I believe it performs as well as my PC does. No issues at all!

Thanks, the package is to arrive on Weds. I will let you know how it goes!
Thanks

Thanks. The biggest reason for the question "why" is absolutely funds. I go to school and work as close to full time as possible, so the answers to my questions would be a lot easier to answer if I could afford up-to-date equpiment. Unfortunately I can't and digging through information is the only way to make sure I'm getting the right bang for my small buck. I did ask this in a different forum, but under different circumstances. In that forum I had not purchased the computer yet, and in this one I had. I was digging to find out if it was neccessary to look into buying a version of Photoshop or if DPP was adequate for my needs.

I am looking just for the basic editing and storage of RAW files. I understood most of the information above, and now that I have a g3 on the way, I really hope that Photosho Elements 4.0 will be all that I need for the basic editing. It honestly isn't a huge deal, just because at work, we have brand new Macs with Photoshop CS3, Lightroom and RAW but only 7 of them to be used by more than 20 reporters/photographers. It is a huge pain to go to the office and find that every Mac is in use, so I will see how the G3 stands up and if it fails to help me, I will look into selling my backup 30D to buy a G4 and go from there. Thanks for the help everyone!
-
I was on a lunch break from work and it was a passing thought. Plus, I don't have the Mac yet, its in the mail and I want to be ready and have everything lined up and ready to go. How does it work on a Mac?
-
I have a Canon EOS 30D and software. To make room for school programs and other storage on my PC, I bought a
Mac just for editing and storing photos. I shoot so many RAW files, that my PC can't hold them.
I have the Mac OS X 10.4, Tiger on my new Mac. Will I be able to install the Canon Digital Photo Professional? If not,
what is the cheapest program I could use to edit RAW files on the Mac? The office I work in has CS3 as its default
program for editing photos, but substaintial computer time is hard to come by. So basically I need a program to edit
RAW on an older Mac.
Thanks

I am planning on waiting until after the holidays to purchase a 40D, but am I waiting for no reason? Will there
be a point in waiting or should I just go out and buy it now?
