Ill admit something....Ever since I first saw one of your lightning shots, I was instantly hooked and had to try it! Now Every storm that I can get to in the state Ill go and chase it, and I have you to thank for that......so Thank You!! BTW I have added many more lightning shots to my portfolio, and would be honored if you could critique a couple for me!!

You have a nice collection of CG Strikes here! IMO if you bump down the exposure in postprocessing just a little bit, you can bring a little more of the bolt out.

I invite you to have a look at my Lightning shots!

Now that is a new way to see that bolt! I nailed some Extremely spectacular CG strikes this morning, I have all of them posted, I think I've done you proud now!!!
  1. Nice Shot! Im a Nikon guy, but Ill give you one thing that Canon, gives some amazing depth in color! Your silhouette on the bottom is perfect! I shot some amazing Cloud 2 Ground strikes this morning! I was really questioning my intelligence on being outside w/ my tripod and cam! I have them posted if you want to have a look!

    Very well done Jeremy!

Now this is an absolute WALL HANGER! I really hope you make a nice print of this and put it up, I will agree with GB on it could stand to be just a tad darker. But overall she is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO precious.......VERY well done Ger, you deserve a pat on the back!
  2. I hope you don't mind but I took this shot and made a few adjustments. One of the things I did was to crop this shot, When shooting lightning Ive found that you only need a little bit of landscape to do the trick. It really takes away from the focal point which is the C2C (Cloud to Cloud) strike. Second thing I did was to adjust the levels on this shot. This bolt has blown out alot of the area, so brought down the levels bar to bring out all of the little fingers coming off the bolt. If you still have the RAW negative you should go back and play with the exposure value while its still in RAW, I'm pretty sure it will really set this shot off! I'm marking you as interesting so that hopefully I can see more of your lightning work, I also invite you to take a look at my lightning folder!
