    "Branching Out"

          2

Lake Lowell - near Boise, ID. I love this tree branching out

towards the lake. My circular polarizer was useful to bring out the

colors during dusk on a mild winter evening early this year.

    Comments welcome. Happy Holidays!

  1. Winter in Yellowstone is magical! I spent couple of days early this

year - and it was my first visit in winter, even though I have

visited several times during summer. I took the snow coach ride into

the park and snowshoed few trails. My friend Lalit and I had just

few minutes in the Firehole Falls area - and I just happen to

discover this particular spot where the early morning sun rays

beamed into the canyon. I wish had more time - but I could only take

three shots! Very minimal post processing, USM, WB to slightly

increase warmth. Please visit my friend Lalit Deshmukh's site to see

    a vertical

    composition. Comments welcome.

I like the brightness amidst dark background. However, leaf on the left is bit distracting. Is that a star (trail) near the center of the frame?

    Complaints

          3

My 4 year old son had just completed his first long hike in the

Canyonlands National Park when I took this photo. You can "see" him

complain - but minutes later, he was ready to take on another

    trail.

Photographs such as this freezes a moment in time allowing us to

    cherish that forever.

    Comments most welcome.

    Isolated bloom

Very nice - and I agree with you that isolating the flower looks better than your previous one. How did you do this though? Doesn't look like the usual large aperture bokeh. Thanks for sharing.
  2. This was taken on a cold winter morning near Sunset Mountain Trail

in Idaho, near Idaho City. My friend Lalit Deshmukh and I hiked

(snow-shoed) very early in the morning to get there early for

sunrise. It was a beautiful sunrise that day and layers of fog

enveloped the pine trees letting diffused light in. I used 12-24mm

    lens with a circular polarizer.

Post processing: slight adjustments to contrast, sharpness and

    saturation in Photoshop elements.
