Bith your responses have been exteremely valuable to me . thank you so much for taking the time.</p>

<p>I have been following the "Digital alterations" category in the Gallery section for some time now, in awe of what can be created digitally. I have been trying to look for software to help me create these virtual worlds that are obviously not real. ( I could not post any examples, because Photonet will not permit it , understandly so) I love scenes that look theyve come out of a Harry Potter movie for example. I use Photoshop CS5 , but other than using some filters and adding textures to it, I have not been able to create any of these scenes I have in mind. Does anyone know what software would be used to make these virtual buildings, people etc.?</p>

I will be going to Argentina in late May of 2012, and would like to take a roadtrip with photography in mind . I am looking for suggestions

on where to go and if there are any particular place of interest I should see . I would leve from Buenos Aires where I have already visited ,

so my main idea is to take the car and go considering I only have 10 days ..thanks

I have had a 5 d for about 3 years which suddenly started malfunctioning .I took it in to get an estimate . Turns out it need a new CCD . I would like to sell this non functionig unit , but dont know how much it is worth or if it can be useful to someone out there for parts. Can someone give me an idea how much I can get for it . The estrimate came in at 498.00 . THe camera otherwise works great and is in "like new " condition as I take extremely good care of my equipment. I am not interested in it because ive since switched to another camera.<br>

<p>Hi as I've stated im coming back after about 2 years of being idle. I dont have my old computer and ive pretty much lost my way in every way , especially using photoshop which I now have the CS 5 version.<br>

Anyway...here is my question can anyone tell me how they manage their pictures? for example I choose a an image to work on and work it all the way through using photoshop ...then what ?<br>

Do you save copies in dfferent formats , sizes, names etc. Ive read dozens of often conflicting articles and posts and hope to get some of your perspectives on saving my files after ive editted them and say posted them here on PN. Any sother suggestions will be greatly appreciated.<br>

I will be spending 4 days in the San Jose , CR area in July. I am really interested

in photographing small towns and their people and getting to see the not so well

known touristy areas. Any suggestions ....any and all will be greatly appreciated.

I want to travel to Maine and from there go to Nova Scotia . I ve never traveled in

that direction and dont know what to expect. Can anyone give me any suggestions

of places/ attractions/or anything that will lend itself for dramatic photography.I am

planning the trip between September and November.

I am purchasing a 70-200 f4 L lens and I am wondering whether anyone wants to

share if they use it with the Canon 1.4 Telextender. Any suggestions ? Has

anyone had problems with Autofocus using this trio?

Well what happened was I DID leave it overnight! And three of the batteries sort of exploded on me. In the morning they were oozing stuff and only one was intact. Thats why I am worried about these new ones I bought . I dont know if this helps but the charger says Ouptput : 2x (3V DC). Thanks for your help.

I recently bought a Canon A 640 so I can carry it with me at all times. I am

having problems with the batteries. The original batteries that came with the

camera instructed me to charge about 12 hours for the first charge , but then

had no instructions on how long to charge the batteries after this first

charge. The batteries are NiMH 1.2V . The charger has 2 lights which light up

when they are plugged in or being charged, but these dont change...EVER .

Can anyone help and tell me how long to charge ?

I usually save my images at 72 dpi for posting here on PN . I tried to order

some prints on Costco.com and they said the quatity (size) of the images were

not suitable for 8x 10 prints. How should I save my images ? In different

sizes for web/ printing ? HELP ! Thanks

I have recently started using a Peleng 8mm Fisheye. I am having a lot of fun

with it and wold like to know if anyone can share their de phishing

techniques . I understand one can download this software for free to be used as

a plug in on PS Elements. Thanks

Has anyone had any experience with this monopod/ tripod from Quantaray. I am

thinking about getting it with a ball instead of the magmount. Does it hold

9lbs really ? Hmmmmm ? Thanks

I would like suggestions on what to take on my trip. I have a heavy ( for

travel anyway) CF Gitzo Mountaineer for use here and on road trips. Need a

lightweight one for city use only. No hiking or such. I want it to support a

Canon 30 D with a 70-300 and a telextender. Looking more for ease of use and

lightweight . I know I cant expect the sturdiness of my Gitzo. HELP !!!

I will be traveling to Buenos Aires in August and there are a few things I

would like to purchase for this trip in particular. Since the exchange is so

favorable I was wondering if anyone can tell me whether waiting and buying it

there makes sense.I have a Canon 30D...w e are talking a couple of 4G CF cards

I just want to frame my digital photos , say in black with a matted look in white. Not looking for anything fancy. I have been able to frame my pics , but it seems to me its very cumbersome and I am sure there is an easier way. Wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions.

I have been trying to frame my digital pics following Scott Kelbys Elements 5

book. Somethings not right , i'm follow it meticulously but I don't get good

results. Does anyone have a "recipe" if you will for making nice frames

digitally?
