I really tussled with he idea of a tighter crop. The savanna is wide and the cat stands in contrast with the huge space. I wanted to keep that feeling in the image and not turn it into a portrait.

A great idea . Well done

Had a good chuckle a couple of weeks ago when my 5 year old grandson
asked me if the turkeys brain was on the outside of his head. On closer
observation is does look like a brain lying on top of their head. Two
spheres left and right, and appearance.

Viewing herds of elephant in the Okavango Delta from 400 feet above the
flood plains is a celestial experience. The last truly free range wild life area
in Africa. Comment welcome. See large.

A bit of background. The hippo had been taken down by a pride of lion the night before and after feasting on a large portion of the hind portion, they
had retreated into the bush to rest up a bit. As is the norm the scavengers then come in to feed . This image was taken at sunrise from a distance of 3 metres. Location : near Mopani camp in the centre of Kruger Park.

This Chacma youngster like many others in the troop is a ball of energy.
This was a rare moment of pause which I took advantage of,

I laid a dead rat in the roof of my outside garage and waited for total
decomposition. 3 months later I had a perfectly clean skeleton. This is an
image of the front upper incissors. Note the bright orange enamel layer on
the front.
