  1. I would always try to stay away from alkaline batteries with all cameras, for expense of equipment and damage alkaline causes when a defective battery explodes, and also for temperature and element reasons, corrosion caused by alkaline to contacts.
  2. Peter, I have to agree with Wigwam Jones and his tactics---even though laws vary from state to state. I have some background education in Criminal Justice, by volunteering for law enforcement. I like to take several pictures, even though only for personal use, and for memories of several vacations that I had to blend into the environment especially the Bahamas, and usually if needed a consent they're more willing to agree to oblige. Also when volunteering you need to blend in for photos, after asking some detective friends who don't share they're photos, such as the pawn shops, high profile cases and etc. Hope this helps, and good luck with the public.

  3. Thanks for showing what a beautiful country Norway has become, and the photos were of exceptional quality. I wish to make such dreams become the eye of the beholder someday(with practice and opportunities of course). Thanks for sharing. Mary
  4. Colin,

Any repairs for camera expertise, I usually ask local thrift stores. They usually send me to the experts, or they know of someone they can recommend within a 100 mile radius. Many of these men and women are retired, and have families, so they wouldn't guide you to an unknown. Just an old trick of mine that applies to any antiques--not only photography. Good Luck.
