  1. I am asking for your help in finding on the net an iconic B&W photograph from

the 1930s (maybe 1940s) of a propeller aircraft (possibly a DC 2 or DC3). This

is a very classic photograph that I have seen countless times in mags / books

etc. It is framed in such a way that the left engine/propeller is in the

foreground and the nose of the plane is on the left of the frame in the back.

Can anyone pls let me know who is the photographer or otherwise point me in the

right direction to ID this picture? I was talking to smby about this picture and

want to be able to show it as an illustration of the concept. Many thanks

  2. Rodenstock Apo Sironar S 135mm fits as well (reversed), but I don't store it that way for reasons already mentioned.

The Tachi has a rise of about 30 mm. You'll need a table with circles of coverage (like this one: http://www.largeformatphotography.info/lenseslist.html) to figure out which lenses to avoid.

I have found that it is when you combine rise/fall with swing/tilt that you quickly exceed the circle of coverage of your lens. One way to avoid/limit this problem is to predominatly tilt/swing the rear standard.

For my style of photography ~210 mm coverage is the minimum.
