Took 9 shots at the same angle, bracketing EV 0.3. Then used the limited

built-in HDR routine in Photoshop CS2, and came up with this. I increased

the saturation a touch, and did a bit of multiply, and color burn.

Without delving through the discussions, I just want to state my critique. I've seen several photos of Pulpit Rock, and this one is my favorite. I've never been there, but it seems like you have to get there early if you want to catch it without crowds of people. The composition is well split up into thirds, the sky, the far mountains and the water, and the cliff on the right. The black and white tones are amazing, and seem to give it an old-timey look. The person on the top is a nice addition. Although distant, and a complete silhouette you can still make out their pose. They seems to be calm and reflecting on the view. Considering how close they are to the edge, I think it's great. It is something I can relate to because, I have the same reaction near the edges of such places.

    Zsolt,

I played around with it a bit, and aligned it to the trees. I think I like the aligned version a bit better. I have started to pay attention to such things after a few of my images have been tilted, and people pointed it out to me. I'm not sure if that's the reason it stood out to me, or if it's because the tallest tree is so straight. Here is the what I had in mind. The rotation is such that there was quite a bit of cropping. Hope you don't mind me posting what I had in mind.

Wonderful Image! This is a truly fantastic scene. The fence has so much character. The tones are wonderful, and the vignette adds a nice touch.

Is the horizon tilted as part of the theme?

    Ian,

I prefer the crop on this version to the other version. For the most part I like the increase in saturation. The only suggestion would be to decrease the red saturation on the man's skin. He looks like he has a very bad sunburn.

    Otherwise great shot!

    Regards,

    Charlie
