I am currently on a two week trip to Morocco, visiting with family and
preparing a photo tour. This sunset broke out of nowhere, minutes after a
downpour. The buildings on the background rock are part of a mausoleum
for a local saint.

I’ve been looking for this waterfall for nearly three years. I stumbled upon it
years ago, then couldn’t remember where the hell it was. After the long
hiatus, it was as much (dis)pleasure to meet again. This shot happened
only after I ate a few voracious gnats, but mostly after a countless many
aforementioned gnats freed me of a few pints of blood.

Enjoying the amazing view on the salt flats of Badwater Basin in California's
Death Valley. Does it get any better than this?

I love the soft tones and subtle gradations here. Those rolling hills are beautifully layered. Unusual but effective and peaceful composition.

This is one of my favorite images of 2010 as I realised a long standing wish
of mine to spend a few days in California's death valley. The sunset on that
night was pretty incredible and last for what seemed like hours sitting reds
and blues and pinks into the sky. However, as it tapered off, the sky took
on an otherworldly purplish tint that stood out beautifully against the dried
mud foreground. The three rocks in the foreground provided the perfect lead-
in to anchor the composition.
Your thoughts and critiques are most appreciated.

Thank you gentlemen! This is a shot that took a long time coming. After over a year of toiling in my archives I finally figured out what I wanted to do with it. I am glad to see it's resonating with you.

It has been a while since I've posted here...almost a year already. To mark
this occasion, I pick up where I left off with this image taken in the
Moroccan Atlas.

Simply gorgeous. Love everything about it. I think I may even prefer it over the already stellar landscape version.

Impressive! How the heck did you get so close?

Stunning. I love everything about this shot.

Very original. Beautiful colours, textures and shapes. If there was a nit is that the light is a bit too harsh. This would be even stronger in softer early morning or late afternoon light. Still, nicely done.
-
Nice light, but the composition isn't as strong as in some other work you have from this area.

Your comments are appreciated. Cheers.

Magnificent scene. Beautifully captured.

Very beautiful shot Mike. I often struggle with night shots (mine or from others) as it is difficult to strike a balance between enough detail in the shadows and portraying that night feeling. I think you have struck that balance perfectly.

Burtonised or not, this is about as good as it gets. Nicely done and merry Xmas mr. Clapp.

I absolutely love everything about this. The light, the tones, the BW conversion, the layers. Outstanding work.
