ummm. The focus is actually good on the eye netz which is the correct point. 1/3rd in front and 2/3rds behind will be and is in focus. But your picture would be better if you had more DOF. Light makes a picture and the effect. You will increase the DOF with more light and closing down more will give more DOF as well. I think you lens will close down to F32 or so. You must think about foregroud, midground and background lighting. If you want to see it you need to light it. Think about putting a background colour behind you scene and light it. The more light the more light zones. The background will be black. If you want to see it, light it. It will be in the out of focus area of the picture but needs separte lighting. Use some on camera flash to increase DOF on the subject and if you have additional lighting or reflectors bring in some side lighting background lighting. Check out the results the top Macro phographers on PN are getting you need to add some extra lights or techniques to get better results. Camera and lens are upto speed. Hope that helps.

  1. Gino I disagree with the average rating. Perfect exsposure, interesting subject and good compostion. I like it, and it was worth posting and fits well in the Paris trip shots. Regards Carl

Thanks for the comment and looking in. Yes he was really there, the shots straight out the camera, I can show all the positions from take of to landing. Maybe a publish the whole series on a link. He landed OK and whats cools if you see the large picture, look at his face how he is smiling he is enjoying himself.

Very nice, was this multiple strikes during 30 secs or just one. Composition of the three horizontal areas works very nicely as well. good work.

I was waiting for the thunderstorm but it passed by a lighting strike would have made this picture very special but at least the moon scone through the dark clouds. Comments and critique welcome

I made adjustments to background window glare as per Stephans critique and added a little selective sharpening. Take a look larger. Any comments or additional critique welcome.

  2. Create scene, perfectly blanced exsposure and great light and details from foreground rocks to the distance horizon. The composition is super and the colours and lights nice and soft. Well done.
