Thanks, from these answers it looks like i'll be using D-76.
Does this mean I should use Kodak chemicals for the stop, fixer, and hypo?
-
I am looking to set up a darkroom in my basement over the summer and despite my
intense scan of this site, I can't find a thread that already applied to what I
need. So here it goes.
I am borrowing all of the equipment from my school (enlarger, trays, etc), so
that's not a problem.
I will be developing kodak tri-x 400, ilford hp5 and artista II film, all
iso400. Is there one developer that can best accommodate all of these, or should
I try to just stick to one (i'd of course prefer the artista because of the
price, but it's not always as convenient to buy.
So far I've heard of Sprint, Rodinol, or Diafine, but really have no idea which
is better. The only chemicals I have worked with is Ilford at school, but that
doesnt really matter to me. I'm pretty new (about one year) to darkroom
photography, so I suppose that is something to keep in mind.
Thank you!

Thanks, when I get the time I will try to work up the courage to try some of these.
Why would changing the screens help my old x-700?
-
The same thing happened to my x-700 a week or so ago and it hasn't fixed itself. Fortunately, I bought a new one on the cheap...
-
What would you recommend using to clean it?

jeff: how hard is it to do this yourself, would you say?
all: how much risky is it to try to clean/replace the screen?

I recently bought a replacement Minolta x-700 off of ebay that seems to be in
fine working condition, except that when you look through the viewfinder there
are a ton of dust specs. I am not sure if these show up on film yet (i'll report
my findings when I get the roll developed in a few days). I tried to clean it
off with an air blower (they arent on the mirror, but on the foggy piece right
above it)
Any idea how to clean these off safely?

THANK YOU!
I was so confused before and probably never would have figured that out on my own.
