  1. Taken from the limestone outcrop called the pancake rocks.
  2. After a day of rain, I had one an hour on the beach to get the wild west coast sea.
  3. Caught this on the way to the west coast of the South Island.
  4. Birdlings flat is a strange open space of sand dunes and red grasses on volcanic sand. The beach has precious stones and holds back lake Ellesmere/ Te Waihora. This was taken at twilight after a North west arch, a cloud particular to New Zealand.
  5. The foreground reeds are a bit distracting, but you would loose to much of your image if you took them out. opening up some of your mid tone reds in the trees would help the depth of the image. Take a bit of colour out of the sky, as we perceive the sky as neutral colours, even though they will take on a tone. This image is about reflection, you might need a bit of a wider view to give a sense of space.
  6. Last light looking towards the Banks Peninsular. This used to be a military range, home now to cattle.
  7. I find it very hard to keep on making images that resonate with my soul, it is always good to have some positive words to help me along.

  9. This sight cheered me as I walked soaked to the skin and frozen to the bone.
  10. Not this time, it is two horizontal images joined using a D800, I do that to maximize my resolution. I have been using a 5x4 and a scanning back, but it takes too long to set up the camera and laptop to get the moment. All processing including dodging and burning is done in RAW with the stitching in Photoshop.
  11. Thanks Gerolamo I had to hope and pray for this image to work as I had hail blowing in my face on the teeth of a gale. What amazes me me is photography ability to make all things calm.
  12. Thanks Craig for your in put. I will re-sample the image, I am a print maker so often don't pay a huge amount of attention on my web samples. For example this is a 400 megabyte image at 16 bit which i carefully post produce for print, however I just click an action to make the web version, I should pay more attention. The print though just took my breath away.
  13. This was about 7:00 in the morning, just before I was almost blown away by a hail storm.
  14. This was taken in a hail storm, the mist over the sea is hail moving towards the cliffs.
