Thanks! :) Before I bought my Sigma 20 1.8, I had been reading a lot about that lens, hoping I would find some positive reviews. But after reading all that storys about softness wide open I wasn't optimistic at all... Fortunately, a friend photographer was selling that lens in mint condition and I got the chance to try it before buying. I was pleasently surprised with its performance. My copy of Sigma is sharper wide open (at 1.8) than AF-S Nikkor 17-35/2.8D (I had it before) wide open (at 2.8). I'm using that Sigma mostly wide open (from 1.8-2.0) and all pictures I posted here are within this range... I had a legendary AF-S Nikkor 14-24/2.8G before also. Great great lens, but very limited. Sold it and for that money I bought Sigma 20/1.8, AF-S Nikkor 28-70/2.8D and Tamron 90/2.8macro. I've never regreted that decision. :)

I find 14-24 very useful for street and concert photography, and even in portraits. :)
I have AF Nikkor 180mm f/2.8D version, and it's excellent, light and compact, and optically brilliant. Here are some shots that I made with my 180/2.8 on D70 or D200:
