  2. I was asked to take pictures at a fund raiser for the red cross. I'm no

professional, but would like your advice any anything you offer my way. I will

be taking pictures of couples, families and who ever else there might be. There

will also be 2 Dalmatian dogs posed in the picture. I was wondering about a

flash and the eyes of the people and of coarse the dogs. I know that the red

eye is always out there and I worry about this part.

I have the following lens, 28-300 mm, and the AF-S VR Nikkor 70-200mm 1:28G.

If any one of you could guide me through this, and tell me what mode I should

shoot these pictures in? I usually use the auto for just about everything I

shoot. This is not my area with using the different settings.

I hope someone can help out with these few questions. The event is Thursday

    evening.

    Thanks so much in advance,

    Roberta

  4. I'm using a friends D80 and want to try it in a basketball game tomorrow night.

I have the very nice nikon 2.8 lens...i dont have it in front of me, but think

its a 70-300mm glass. It was $1700 if that helps in trying to describe it. Well

anyways how should I try setting the D80 in shooting such fast action. The

friend said that I should use a flash, but I don't like using a flash when so

close to the basket. I have the D70 and I usually shoot it in 1600 speed in the

sports mode. Any help from any of you would be a great help.

Thanks so much, this is a great site.

  5. What I do is take basketball and football pictures of the freshemn, jv and varsity team at my sons school. I was thinking about trying to sell some of them and making a few bucks. What I do now is take all the pictures and send them through emails for nothing. Lots of work. But I love taking sport photos. Thanks for any advice.

  6. I was asked to take pictures for my son's basketball team.........the coach

wants me to take the freshmen, JV, and the Varsity teams. Any suggestions for

me. I have a D70 Nikon. Should I use a tripod? I never use one, but do have

one. What should I shoot at also? Thanks
