Taken last week in CA

Took this one last Friday in Death Valley. I was deep into the dunes when
the wind started to pick up, and was able to snap-off a couple shots at this
location before a full-blown sandstorm hit. It was really bad,and luckily I had
a GPS with me, since visibility was only about 30 yards. I was pleased to
come away with this image, and will always be reminded of this scary
experience...

Taken last week, in MI.

Taken a couple days ago in Michigan. Now that ACR camera profiles
are improved, I am finally able to get REAL reds!

Took this one last week in Washington. The sunset was a bust, but
the soft light on these pilings accentuated the green growth. The
proginal shot also has sky in it, which I cropped out.

Taken a few weeks ago at Mono Lake. I preferred the B&W
conversion to the color. Look smore stark and other-worldly to me.

Taken a couple weeks ago in Yosemite.

Taken a couple weeks ago along the CA coastline.

This is a very quick processing on my (uncalibrated) laptop of an image I
took a few days ago. Will redo on my properly calibrated screen when I get
back. Just looking for general impressions...

This is a "quick and dirty" processing from my (uncalibrated) laptop while on
the road. Your thoughts are appreciated.

Took this one a couple weeks ago at Mono Lake. Shot with a Zeiss 35-
70 with adapter for my 5D Canon.

Would like people's thoughts on this image. I thought it was
stronger in B&W than color..

Looking for comments on this composition. A monochrome treatment
also looks very nice, but the detail that is important to add impact
doesn't come through in a small jpg.

This is a resubmission, after I realized my new computer monitor was
WAY off calibration.

Took this one on 11-07. I just upgraded my Capture One software and
was surprised at the better color balance on the images I took. I
like this image because of the clouds adding a bit of depth to the
image...

Took this one during one of the best auroral displays I've ever seen.

Taken with my 10D yesterday morning. I think it holds up well with
the film-based image I took years ago... I don't think I'll be going
back to film any time soon...

Most lightning photos use long shutter speeds to record multiple
strokes, at the expense of cloud detail. I prefer lightning images
with cloud detail, and feel the lightning stroke itself should be
the "icing on the cake" of a good lightning image. Would do you
think? I like this shot, but haven't taken the time to dodge/burn
and extract the detail in the blown out portions of the clouds in
the right/center. This will be able to be extracted from the RAW
file when I take the time...

Took this one a few days ago after a storm hit Yosemite. I live in WI,
and had this trip planned 2 months ago. Turns out I was very lucky to
have arrived after such a significant snowfall... I tokk alot of very fine
images with the 5D II and will post more as time permits. This was a
quick field edit on my (uncalibrated) laptop...
