1.
Dear, I am dealing a used Af 180 ED 2.8 and I got a question from a guy interested:
Is this lens going to manual mode - aperture and focus with those Nikon bodies: D40,D3000 e D5000?
I am not sure! This lens has a aperture ring and focus ring but in my D2H I have to set manual focus into the body.

Thanks for help, Rubens

 2.
Hi Charles,
I have a SU-800 and Sb's and seems to me that most of us start as you are. I would assume that in near future you are enjoing monolights that can be cheaper than SBs with much more power. Why not mix those?
I would bet that you are not so concerned with CLS as far as you might want control your light in manual mode. So take a look at radioppoper that promises high sync, groups ( as SU-800 does ) and commander for monolights - like AB and speedlights
Good luck, Rubens

 3.
Hi Walter, here is one of those that has observed 04 drawbacks over SU-800, ( I got one and 02 SBs)
a) Infrared is not really a good technology if you compare to RF. I got problems loosing signal even in studio when umbrellas obstruct those pulses from SBs and SU-800. In bright sun light you can have the same problem. At this moments you get bored loosing time to reconfigure angles!
b) the distance between commander and flashes are very restricted, again compared to any device RF.
c) SU-800 has a fixed axis and you are not allowed to rotate and get better connection between commander and speedlights., again searching better signal
d) This commander SU-800 will not fire monolights and other setups than Nikon.
I am now watching some posts over radiopopper that could assemble strobes and speedlights ( multi-brand, and old oneswithout PC connector)
Marten, be careful now and look for strobist and other reviews to make your final decision. Good Luck, Rubens

 4.
Hy joseph,
Thank you. Sorry for any misunderstanding. You definitely got my points and “reliable” is related out of Paul C. Buff's brand (products and reviews).
a) If you have time and thinking in Radiopopper solution, please explain me why some posts and guys are trying to plug Nikon AS-E900 flash adapter to Nikon speedlights instead of PX receiver?
b) How come is possible assemble SU-800 into radiopopper setup? I could not follow you!
Tks, Rubens

 5.
Dear,
I am going to purchase a set of wirelles triggers in near future. My first option would be wait for PW and new models for Nikon but the delay is on and I am not sure if my budget is up to afford it.
I do have Nikon gear + SU-800, Nikon Speedlights, Monolights and asssemble those in some moments - is my real world, thinking in locations.
Looking for other options, you can find SyberSync with his reliability and the new RadioPopper that promises link strobes and speedlights ( that would be really nice ) in JrX Transmitter and JrX Receiver Studio 16 channels, 4 groups of control. Here with a great hand from Strobist.
http://radiopopper.com/blog/2009/08/14/the-big-jrx-announcement/
Please, I would like to ask for some tips over those products and considering their features including HighSync for AB and Speedlights.
Tks, Rubens

 6.
Hi Zirab, I agree in part of many posts you red so far. Here is mine: - I got my D2H 03 years ago after reading many respcted reviews as Thom Hogam, DPreview and so. Besides a Nikon Gear with their reliable tech, there was a consensus out that you must be aware of getting noise in two moments: - under-exponsing a shot will bring you a severe noise at blue channel and don't expect to solve it in post - production, - High ISO like 1000 and over, you are really in trouble in most situations.
About resolution, never mind! You can print a tabloid size with no problems and I don't think you are up-scaling more them this.
Regarding this drawbacks, this is a tremendous body that has real quality and performance. But If you can afford to D2X anytime, don't miss it and you are skipping those issues described and new resolution.
Regards, Rubens

 7.
Dear,
Dear,
I am searching for any real and good solution for connecting my D2H to a computer wireless or wired. Actually, I Bought a Nikon WT-1 ( transceiver ) one year ago and downloaded free version of third part software to help it. But never got good stability. Now I upgraded to vista and “Bug”. For now, it doesn’t matter if I will be wireless or not. The goal is connect the camera in real time with a computer in my studio.
I’ve been seeing some short videos with a tripod with camera and a laptop connected for studios and locations. I am not sure if the laptop is wired or not. Anyway, how come download files wired to a computer in real time? USB + software ( witch one?).

Thanks, Rubens

 8.
Hi Charles and Martjn,

Your teses are very helpfull. In fact I tried also in LAB mode that improved but not get solved

Here is one picture and I put some red balls were definetelly you can see green casts. Even without those points I encountered a line fringing all over the hair.

Thanks for you time, analisys and help. Rubens

 9.
Dear,
After reading some posts I decided to aply a Chroma key color into a studio background. For a test I asked a Coral Paint dealer do mix a Pantone color code 354 for green and 2735 for Blue. But, it fails!
Photoshop could really not extract hair with his best tools.
So, is possible do it with pantone codes otherwise I must look for Rosco?
Thanks, Rubens

 11.
Dear,
This month I will send a Tokins Lens in trade to Adorama. I decided to pick up a Monolight in trade about 400 ws. This is going to a key light for portraits for while and them I will go for a 800ws.
Does anyone have a tip choosing a brand and model taking in acount good features, recycle time, stops, and works with A/C and Batt pack. Range $400-$500.
http://www.adorama.com/catalog.tpl?op=itemlist&cat1=Flash/Lighting&cat2=Monolights&cat3=Monolights
12.
Dear,
Usually and reading lens reviews, CA always comes as a problem in some lenses and have penalty for this issue . Otherwise, those reviewers use to say that post-processing would resolve it! How come?
I tried in Lightroom that has sliders to this, in Photoshop also and never got any good result applied to any color fringing.
(Shooting with Nikon 180mm f/2,8 and other Nikon lenses )
Any Help?
Tks, Rubens

 13.
Hi Lisa,
Actually I have the TOKINA AT-X 80-400 and I am now sending it to Adorama as a trade. In fact, this lens can't go beyond 300mm, or you will get softeness. From 80to 300mm is a kind of decent lens, very compact, and superb construction.
For prime results I decided to a NikonAF 300mm ED f/4 and a 1/4x Converter - just in case.
Take a look at KEH.com for more possibilities!
Bye.

 14.
Hi Guys,
After some help over here in another post, I would like to purchase a wide lens that is possible into Adorama intrade of my Tokina At-x 80-400mm .
They do have a Sigma AF 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6 EX HSM DG avaiable.
So, does anybody has any review or experience with this model, condering optics aspects in first criteria?
Tks, Rubens

 15.
Hi Frank,
Acctually, my goal here is how to have the best and relyable sistem to joing speedlights and strobes. May be with this new device is going to be possible! ? I don't mind loosong iTTL, but I would like to keep High Speed Sync ( over 1/250). So....
