Macniac Island Michigan October 2006. After a violent early fall
storm, this stressed young maple was exposed to wind and the new-
fallen snow was knocked off of the leaves because the wind was
unimpeded (the backdrop foliage was dense, so the snow remained
shrouded on the flora). Thanks for your consideration.

That's all I have to say. Wonderful shot.

The medium format camera with timer shutter realease on was extended out the driver-side window. Knee steadied the steering wheel. After 20 exposures like this, I survived to type this. - Justin

Hi all. I am truly flattered by everone's comments and visit to my page. The high ratings have been nice too (with exception of the 3/3 that someone gave me without telling me why).
Hi Frank -- to answer you specifically, believe it or not, I was driving this car when I recorded the image: a manoevre that I wouldn't recommend to anyone. About 80 m.p.h. and a medium format Pentax 645 / 35mm lens mounted with a timer shutter release. My knee steadied the steering wheel and cruise control acivated. I have eaten many Big Macs driving my car with a knee so I guess unexpected skills are learned without intention at times :) Thanks again.

comments welcome, with a good laugh, hopefully!

Alec ... this image brought me to your PN portfolio and I am glad to have seen it. This cover is certainly commensurate with the usual image in your body of work, which is exceptionally and consistently high. Count on a revisit from me. Congrats 7/6.

Love how you filled your frame and the child has radiant eyes to match. A fice one for you, Marcello!

Alas, in August 2006, one of the "turrets" of this "Castle Rock"
formation gave way and tumbled into the aquas of Lake Superior,
Michigan. Casle Rock's demise was the natural progression of the
intense, freeze, thaw, water battering, wind and erosion so typical
of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore in Munising, Michigan. This
photo is posted as a tribute to a grand place.

Sharon ... this is a very challenging subject to photograph. For me, a lot of the interest is unfortunately obscurred by brush in the front of the grille. The high contrast of the scene is seemingly beyon the range of your Exilm to record. Very interesting scene and potential: you probably worked to find it. I would like to take a shot at this by isolating some of the nostalia or tired weathering of this old Chevy combined with some of the splash of the autumn folliage ... perhaps a low angle perspective near the grille with a softened tree back drop. I do get the rendering of your sense of "tired" and "nostagia" and color which was clearly your aim when the scene struck you. Nice job.

This is a popular phto platform in Alberta Canada. Usually this is
rendered in color ... what is the inpression in B/W? This lake is
also known as "Wolf's Head Lake" for the shape of the shoreline.

First, thanks for looking at this one. I am relatively new to insect
macros, but this one was worth a post. I see that a lot of shooters limit
their DOF with insects, but I thought that the slightly soft (not
completely blurred) background leaves also brought a different dramatic
element. Maybe the butterfly's show was enough? I appreciate your
look and the critique.
