Les - Great suggestion cloning out the catchlight from the octo softbox. It really improves the look. I'll remember that one next time. Thanks. Pete

    Scott,

Thanks so much for the great critique. The lighting set up for this shot was a large square softbox slightly above head height pointed downward and a 24" octo softbox with egg crate roughly waist height pointed upward. I don't have a boom so the large softbox was slightly off camera line just enough so the lightstand wasn't in frame. Thanks for the posing tips. If you take a look at my photo.net portfolio you'll see another pose we did on this shoot which was inspired by 50's starlet poses. If you have the time I'd appreciate you're comments on that other pose also. Thanks again. Pete

Love this one Ian. I could see it used as the background to a car ad or some "green" product. Wonderful lines and the clouds are placed nicely. If the highlights in the big cloud are all in check this one's out of the park. By the way someone else mentioned it reminded them of the Microsoft screen in XP - this shot blows away that one!

Wonderful light play which breathes life into a common scene. The colours are gorgeuous and the upper left just sings. I would suggest working on the upper right. The dark corner is a bit distracting.

Yowza! Huge range in this one all held in check nicely. It's a textbook example of a scene for the use of the Daryl Benson Singh Ray filter. Nice bonus effect that the cloud lines funnel to the peaks. Bravo!
  1. Sweet shot Harry. What I especially like about this photo is the impact it has even with the sun so high in the sky. Also I look at the image and my reaction after taking it all in is that it's made up of a number of elements that fit nicely and there is nothing extra that shouldn't be there. A place for everything and everything in its place. Nicely done.
