floris2 0 Posted February 26, 2009 I had this idea for shooting twilight stars and lupines for a few weeks. Then I found myself in the most beautiful lupine field at the base of Mt. Rainier with clear skies, so I took advantage. This is 4 exposures of various lengths, focus settings, and at two different times of day (twilight and an hour later for the stars (shot out of focus to increase their size)), for me this brings across the beauty of this time of day, which would otherwise be impossible to get across. Hope it works for you! Link to comment

mcginty 0 Posted February 26, 2009 Thanks for posting this beautiful photo Floris. What's great about this photo is that we have all seen something like this with our own eyes but never captured on film. The scene's color and tone are a perfect balance looking completely natural as if we "the viewer" were standing right there. Other photos have star trails conveying time has past. But this photo has the feel you are there at that brief moment of last twilight. One of the most original landscapes I have seen in a while. For observation, planning and execution "OPE," I will give you a perfect score. Ry Link to comment

floris2 0 Posted February 27, 2009 Thanks everyone! This was shot from one of the 'parks' on the North side of Rainier, I camped out there for a few nights, a truly spectacular place. I hope to come across more scenes where I can use this technique, though I'll be hard pressed to beat the harmony of the lupines and those other little white flowers with the stars :) Link to comment
