Hi Tom-A perfect autumn image, The boulders in the foreground, the trees on both sides of the river & finally the fog covered trees in the background. I like this image very ,much, to me is a quiet, low toned image, a perfect spot to sit & relax & enjoy the view. Best Wishes-Ross
  1. Hi Larry- Three cheers for nature, a wonderful work of a very unique seascape. You have captured the ruggedness very well Have been pondering the wave motion in the foreground, with s shutter speed of 1/320 at the amount of wave travel in the foreground, something to think about on our cold winter nights. The reason I have not been posting images is Father Time is catching up to me..Am now in my 89th. year & must accept a slowing down Altho Vi & I are in good health which I believe is due to the years of hiking & backpacking..Have enough images to review & improve on to last years & we will make short trips in our area Have rambled long enough so will close for now.Best Wishes to You & Yours-Ross

Hi ALF- So nice to hear from you, always appreciate your well thought out comments. Thanks again. You might be interested in knowing the image was taken from the deck of our cabin Unfortortunately,Father Time is relentless & I am in my 89th. year tramping around this old planet..We had to sell our cabin as the drive was becoming too much, our freeways are not for the faint of heart & it was a long drive. Years of hiking & backpacking have left Vi & myself in good health & expect to be around for some time yet. & hopefully submitting the occasional image.Have rambled on for a long time so will close for now. & head downstairs to my woodworking shop & a project I am working on. Again, Best Wishes to You & Yours_ Ross
  3. Thanks for visiting & your always welcome comments. If you look closely, you can see the wheel from an old hayrack.. Really enjoy coming across these old barns & homes They make for interesting images. Best Regards-Ross
  4. HI LARRY_-I find myself moving away from the overall landscape & choosing a slice of the landscape instead with the greater detail.Actually, your fine image is an excellent example. Your POV is excellent , capturing the sharpness & life like detail of the various grasses & the boulder. The bright green cluster at top centre continually draws the eyes of the viewer.Likewise, the boulder is interesting with the various colours & shapes. Of course, you recognized the possibilities & produced an image that is pleasurable to view. Best Regards-Ross
  5. Hi Alf - Have been contemplating lately that some unsharpness can improve an image,& here you go & prove my point..It is a lovely image, remembrance of some early painters adopted this style.Like the three trees, named.the big tree as male tree, behind him, the female tree, the small one ,the baby tree all casting a nice reflection in the pond. Finally, come to the end of my walk at the dead tree which balances the trees nicely. The fog, of course, makes the picture & Alf,the lucky photographer who came along & captured this lovely scene for the rest of us to enjoy .Best Regards_Ross

Hi James-Every one has covered all details quite well.Believe my take is a little different.I can not keep my eyes off the bridge, every time my gaze drops to the lower section, it very quickly returns to the bridge. beats me. Best Regards-Ross

  7. HI Saad-Out standing!,as soon a coming upon your fine image, a feeling of sadness envelops me, this gentleman has obviously had a hard life. his face reflects a life of hardness and sadness, he appears to be looking at something that upsets him . One tear separates our ages, when I look back on mine with satisfaction, married to the same wife for 64 years, it brings home how unfair life can be for some. If you sell your photos I would be interested in purchasing this captivating image. Best Regards-Ross
