  1. Odd photo. The feminine form is contrasted by a very masculine, shaved neck. The lighting directs us to two areas, the lower left between her legs and what slightly longer hair she has in front. The result is very androgynous to me. The lighting is wonderful, with soft contrasts between light and dark. The form, in general, has a hint of Edward Weston to it.

As a heterosexual female, I feel as though I'm one of the very few who is qualified to make comments not based on hormones!

Seriously, this is a cute, sexy, and flirtatious shot. The shadows between the model's legs give the image rich dimension and depth. The image is well-composed and well-exposed. The choice of a (long shirt/ultra short dress) works well because the pattern enhances without detracting.

The exposure is extraordinary. I love how the sides are darkened and the model commands attention. The curves of her form are highlighted beautifully by your lighting. Her gorgeous hair, of course, is the center of attention. (Could you imagine how this shot would look with a model with short hair?) We can't see her face, but quite frankly, this is about her form as a whole, and as such, the shot works perfectly. The only criticism I have is centering the model. I don't know why, but I just want to physically move her a tiny bit to the left or right.

The "I wanna pose nude but can't quite do it so I'll cross my arms" look is predictable and makes this shot quite average. If you could just pose her in a way to hide her breasts without making it blatent, the shot would look much better.
  2. I've been to the Ural Mountains, though I don't recall this lovely lady!

Great shot, but I'm scared to enquire what on earth she is holding in her hands. My impression is that she is ready to penetrate the earth with her essence. The only suggestion I will make is to crop the image a bit to zoom in on the model.

What century was this taken? Great photo. The only change I'd make is to move the model a little to picture right so that she balances the image on top. The lighting and color are enviable.

This has the makings of a great photograph, but the ribs sticking straight up ruin the effect. I know that when a person lies down, gravity spreads out the fat and muscle to the direction of the earth, but the effect here is too severe and what should be an erotic photo looks more like an image for world hunger. I'm not trying to be mean, but those ribs are front and center and steal my focus.
  3. I must be upfront: I am not much of a fan of shots of animals in their natural habitats, and these types of photos just rarely appeal to me. However, something about this photo reels me in. It's beautifully framed -- almost as if the bird were posing for his publicity shot! The colors are nice without being overpowering. The depth of field is perfect -- neither too shallow or too full.

I don't want to offend anyone with this comment, but the first thing that popped into my mind when I saw this photo was that it had to have been taken on film. There is a certain aesthetic richness that is undeniable. The shot is gorgeous. Great lighting. She reminds me of Ofra Haza! The headband and her skirt (or blanket) are perfect accessories: they add to the image yet do not overwhelm it. The exposure is exquisite, with the eye drawn to her soft skin, then moving up to her face, which appears natural and not forced. Also, the shot has almost a classic 1920s look to it. Truly a beautiful photograph.

The photographer's skill and talent are evident. The lighting is rich, the composition aesthetically pleasing, and the model's pose is great. However, if you want honest critique, one aspect of the photo detracts from an otherwise excellent photo: the nonnatural breasts. My eye is directed immediately towards the outline of the implants, and the result is not pleasing.

I hate to follow a crowd, but this simply is an absolutely equisite shot. The only real thing I'd like to see differently is a model with long hair. The long hair dancing underwater would make this great photo even better.

I love the black and white motif. I'd just like to see the lighting a bit more dramatic. A hair light would add a nice touch. Some shadows would give this gorgeous girl even more power! The hair covering her eye is seductive.

The first thing that strikes me is how the face and gloves are whiter than the clouds! Fantastic contrast, and the photo has real depth, which is frequently lacking in many photos. Did you use a polarizing filter?

Highly effective and visually stimulating photo (and I don't often say that).

What I'd really like to know is what equipment, filter, and exposure the photographer used. Would you please tell us?

There is one aspect that greatly detracts from the photo for me: her left hand covering her breast. If she really doesn't want her breast exposed, then I think the shot would be better if the pose itself covered the breast.

The angle and composition of this photo are great. What is also very appealing is that it isn't a posed photo. It's really like a slice of life -- a beautiful little girl on a warm, sunny day, quenching her thirst. The only aspect that is slightly distracting is some object on the far right of the picture, slightly more than halfway to the top. Perhaps just moving slightly to the left would alleviate the object. However, a shot like this with a highly active little person has to be challenging. I love her little fingers wrapped around the faucet.

Your idea is a good one. However, for me, the foreground looks overexposed and the background looks very underexposed. Also, a filter might pop some of those colors, as well. Also, I'd like to see the photo taken horizontally and perhaps from a much lower view (photographer getting on the ground himself)

This has kind of a grainy documentary, as if you're exposing a prostitute or drug addict. I see her literal shadow as a figurative shadow of her addiction looming over her, so the composition is very effective.
  4. First, we're all at the mercy of our computer screens as to how the image will display. However, my monitor in only a couple of months old and fairly accurate, I think.

The sky is nice! However, I have a feeling that you metered for the sky and not the landscape below. As such, the landscape feels "in the way" of the sky. I'd either leave out the land or else meter for it so it's exposed more favorably. (Open up the aperture or slow the shutter).
