Thx very much Kent and Cris!
Kent -- you've picked up on my lighting tricks! Yes I monkeyed around with the lighting to bring out certain aspects of the shot and help the composition. Glad you noticed!
Stay tuned for more.

I love this, one could be deceived into thinking it was a simple shot. The interplay of textures is remarkable (there's a lot of detail here), as is the play of the various angles. The way the boards are viewed through the grass is very well caught. The exposure is perfect, in that the boards are brought out and yet the different types of grass can be spotted. All sort of cradled by the dark areas on the right and bottom. Great work!

Thank you all Marco, Pep, Rueda, Lesa, Rachel...Thank you all very much!
Rueda, grazie
Lesa, thanks for all your comments! I'm glad your show went well, thats inspirational! And yes, all creatures are dead. The mole for some reason decided to expire in my garage. And the crickets all tend to croak around this time every year, when the first frost comes around.
Rachel thank you very much for all your enthusiasm! The black thing you mention is a tear in the paper.

Excellent. I feel as though the boats are pulling me right up that river.

Such a rich and complex image, and yet my eye is constantly drawn to the boxes of fish. Thanks for posting Chris! Dave

I agree with Deb...my first thought was of the movie 'psycho II'...will he smack her on the head?

Excellent mood! I like the almost-square format.
