  1. i heard to do $300 a file with no volume discount. i definately wouldnt sell cheaper than

the prints, even though the average person would think this way since there is no cost.

also a file can usually make a print twice a big as the buy so selling by size needed is not

    usefull.

for an event/wedding i would make it a package at $6-8,000, retouching extra for about

    200 images.

    try photobiz/photoquote software for licencing/prices/contracts. fotobiz.net

    really the best out there.

i think its a sign of a less professional or photographer who doesnt know anything to sell

files esp. cheap. jpg shooters do this. it really hurts the profession, only strengthening

people's idea that we dont do any work behind the computer and commotizing digital

images. people dont seem to realize this. real studios either dont at all or only at high

prices sell files. (not directed at you).

  2. focus with my 1ds mark2 is close but never perfect. even with a stationary subject right on an AF point. i

still get very acceptable prints, but i want to see fine eyelash details when shooting 1/2 body shot

portraits, which i do get here and there... is this a problem with the camera/lens, it happens among many

lenses...or perhaps resolution of the sensor/lens/lens at certain F stops...? perhaps a issue the DOF not

being the same with a digital camera...?

    i work with a 90 TS, 16-35, 28-70, (i shoot w/the 90TS alot, usually at F5.6) i just shot some portraits

with my 8mp Rebel with the 28-70, and it did not seem to have this focus problem. perhaps the lenses are

out resolving the sensors, and the rebel's sensor is a better match for the lens.

    thanks,

    michael.
