I am using a mac but have a dual boot system and could load up windows but now that I think about it the Apple software will probably have a slick and easy slide show producer. I have used Adobe Premier Pro in the past, it's great but way too much work for the simple things I want to produce.

I need to make a last minute slide show for a family event. I own and have used a more sophisticated program but the effort and learning curve is pretty steep and I forget how to use it in between slide show efforts. Can someone recommend a cheap and simple slideshow editing program to make a fast and easy slideshow with music and transitions.

<p>The bay where they are was so calm the day I was there. For the wide angle shots I will have plenty of time. This provided a momma brings her baby up to the boat again. At one point I was shooting with my right hand over my head and reaching out with my left hand petting the baby whale. I had to reach up with my left hand to rack the lens to 10mm as it was so close.</p> <p>I have a rental 100-400 II on the way. I will be carrying my Canon 30D with me to keep a second camera on the ready, for the wide angle shots.</p><div></div>

<p>So no polarizer on the big lens, where I need the shutter speed? I also don't think DOF is much of an issue because I am usually shooting fairly far away with this then cropping. Also some of these distant shots are usually taken with a last minute camera swing as the whales pop up. Most of the first shots were soft then a little better. That day was fairly calm so the camera was fairly steady once on target.<br> Would the polarizer be good for the close up shots 10-20 and 28-75 lenses with the whales under or near the surface? I am hoping for some glare reduction and better water penetration.</p>

<p>JDM,<br> I realize the disappointing photos from this trip is not the fault of the lenses but that of pilot error and know what I did wrong and glad to have another opportunity to do it right. While I little rusty at this type of action shooting, I have pretty much the right technique. It is tough when I am shooting a baby frolicking 20 feet from the boat and a large mom breaches a hundred yards away. Its not a bad problem to have when there are too many photo ops and not enough camera bodies. <br> I did end up with some nice shots, but not as many as I was hoping for. I am wanting to maximize my opportunity for the next trip. A person on board this trip had a 5Dmark II with all L lenses. I spent the majority of the trip showing her how to use it. I was jealous but when doing some bracketing, I realize how slow it is and really like my 7D for what I do. I already want this 100-400 II, and am renting it to test drive it this weekend and contemplating some overtime at work so I can add it to my collection.</p> <p>So the plan now is to carry my 7D, rent another 7D and then rent the 100-400 with a polarizer.<br> Would a polarizer be useful on all the lenses? I really feel the close ups with the wide angle would have benefited from one.<br> Should I put a polarizer on all the lenses?<br> Will this help with low contrast images?<br> Would a monopod help with the big glass in a boat?<br> Is there an exposure I should try to help on the low contrast images when it comes to shooting or post processing?</p><div></div>

<p>I just came back from a trip from Baja California where I visited the Bay of Magdalena, where I got to pet a baby Gray Whale. There were many more other cool whale sightings also. While I got some nice photos, generally there were many more disappointing photos. I may also rent a second camera body, so I am not switching between lenses as shots come and go. The whales are popping up either far away or close up the whole time.</p> <ul> <li>The question I have is there a wide or medium lens that is far superior to what I own that I should consider renting?</li> <li>Would I benefit from putting a polarizer on the front of all my lenses i bring?</li> <li>Would a second 7D be the camera of choice for this trip or is there a better body for wildlife, within a budget?</li> </ul> <p>Any other suggestions on making this upcoming photo trip a better one photographically are appreciated.</p><div></div>

<p>I am trying to some compositing. <br> There is a piece missing in the final image I am trying to pull in from an outside image. I have tried to select and copy and paste from one image to another. When I paste into the second image, then try to transform the image or layer which the pasted image lands on, I am only offered the choice of "transform path". When I try to "transform path" nothing happens.<br> How do I select a portion of an image<br> Copy it<br> Paste into another image<br> Transform that image,<br> Place into new image?</p> <p> </p>

<p>I believe the early release is usually called a beta version. In the past there was a beta available to the public and a trial or RC version leading up to the official launch. There was a huge presence on the forums discussing new features, bugs, etc. <br> I have looked around and and can't find a trial version anywhere of LR6. In a previous search I saw comments along the lines that the beta versions are only available to a limited group of insiders of some type. It seems like advance access to the software and the great amounts of information and coverage on the web is non existent for this release. Since adobe is changing things up recently I was just hoping for some insight on how they may release LR 6?</p>

<p>I just got a new laptop and am reinvigorated as far as photography is considered. I am using LR4 and have been waiting for LR6 before upgrading.</p> <p>I know LR6 is expected in March so don't want to pay to upgrade for a short period to LR5. Looking for suggestions on how to go about upgrading. I upgraded from 1 to 2 then 4. It seems like Adobe always changes the policies and marketing approaches. Does adobe usually offer an upgrade if you purchase a software title and it is upgraded within 2 months or 30 days? Will there be a Beta of LR6 available to the public before the March release?</p>

<p>Why not just download the software? I remember it being a pain in the past but with today's internet speeds seems like it should be easy enough. <br> I am not sure but Mpix might not need software and you can find a coupon for printing. It looks like it is quite a bit more expensive. Might be worth trying to figure out the ROES software.</p>

<p>I went to look at stairinterpolation and found it is either mac or PC specific. Since I run both I don't one to pay for a limited use piece of software.</p> <p>What other options can I use to up size this for free?</p>

<p>I have a number of images from this shoot that can be used to make a print. These are all from a series of HDR that I shot. Even with the 6 or more images to create each HDR I have trouble getting the images like I want.</p> <p>I do have the original EOS 7D Raw images. As well as a few different HDR attempts. I have the following tools Lightroom, Photoshop, Photomatix and Nik tools. I also have a brand new MacbookPro.</p> <p>I have been a little disappointed with the results of these images and the output of the HDR software. The panoramic image was improved by cutting out the aircraft from one of the original images and placing it in place on the panoramic image. Otherwise the images either show the sunset or the plane but never shows the plane as i would like.<br> I would appreciate any suggestions on how to make the most my bracketed images to make the best output. I am assuming stair interpolation is a multi step process? How do I go about it?</p>

<p>Here is the copy of the image I was thinking about. It is a panorama as you can see. I just tried to lay it out though and don't think it would work. I was hoping for the plane on the left would be one of the prints, then make a similar sized print for the right image with a narrower image for the mountain in the middle. Unfortunately it does not line up at all each print would be a different size. <p>I have an image I took of an airplane that I fly for people that have provided me some significant income in the last year. They are pretty proud of their plane and their hangar and i would like to present them a nice print of this to display in their hangar to say thanks for their business. </p> <p>I was thinking of a three canvas wrap images to accomplish this. I was thinking of going with WHCC but they say I would have to lay it out the three images myself. Which I assume I am able to do but concerned if they frame up the canvas wrong, it may come not come out perfect.</p> <p>Any suggestions on how to go about this?</p>
