1.
Hi Everyone,

I second shot for another photographer and she is trying to upload the images to publish a blog post but under all of the images there are the words SONY DSC under them. I've shot for her before and never had this issue and never had this issue on my end either and I've been using this camera for going on three years now. Any idea of why it is doing this and what we can do to take the headings off? Thanks!

  2.
Hi Brooks,

Thank you for replying. :-)
So I launched Spyder 3 Pro, and clicked the Help button in the upper right hand corner. (I downloaded the newer version of it from the datacolor website and it is only 4.0). However, all that comes up is just the help information- welcome, learn about color management, basic calibration, advanced calibration, studiomatch, tools, reference and further information. Would you be so kind as to tell me where the elusive activation is located?

  3.
So I borrowed my friend's spyder 3 pro to test it out; and was able to calibrate my monitors no problem. I decided I would use it enough to get another one myself. So I bought one. I uninstalled my friend's spyder 3 software. I reinstalled the new software. But I was never given a chance to enter the license code. It downloads the program, but when I start to try to calibrate it I'm given this:
If you purchased more than one copy of Spyder 3 Pro, then you will need to run the software activation utility from the menu and activate all copies of spyder 3 pro.

I've been trying to figure this out forever and I'm going crazy. WHERE is the software activation utility from the menu??? I am trying not to rip out my hair at this point.

  4.
I have two 5600HS flashes that I'm using for off camera flash for wedding receptions. I've lately just put them up on the DJ's equipment to have them above the heads of the people at the reception, but now I am looking into some light stands.
However, the light stands I'm looking at just have a standard screw on top, nothing to put the hotshoe on. Is there something else I am supposed to buy to adapt the light stand to fit the flash?

  5.
I think I found out what was going wrong... in lightroom it was using the color space sRGB. The minute I changed it to AdobeRGB it cleaned up so that I saw it consistently from exporting it from lightroom to a folder on the hard drive, into photoshop, saving it from photoshop to another folder. It appeared the same when I uploaded it to flickr/facebook and my slideshow software. No clue why that is, but I guess I'll take it.

  6.
The thing is, I've used the software (just downloaded lightroom) but have used photoshop, picasa (to view things quickly) and my showitfast slideshow software for over two years now and never had this issue before. I could understand more if it were displaying the over saturated images on both the internet and the slideshow software, but why JUST the slideshow software? I am saving them as sRGB, I made sure. But when I switch the View -- proof setup -- monitor set up in photoshop, that is exactly what I am seeing in the actual folder. Crazy colors. But when I convert it back to Working CMYK that is what I'm seeing on the internet and in photoshop and lightroom. So aggravating.

  7.
I hope someone can help me, because I am going BONKERS over this.

I've used the same desktop for four years now. I bought a new monitor and calibrated it. No problem.

Shot a session in RAW, opened and corrected in lightroom. Exported jpegs to folder, then opened files in photoshop cs2 to fine tune them. Everything looked great. Saved files again as final edits. Opened file of final edits and they are INSANELY over saturated. Brilliant pink skin tones, florescent greens. Not even close. However, when I upload the file to anything on the internet (facebook/flickr, blog) it appears just like it does in photoshop and lightroom, the way I intended it. However, when I uploaded it to my showitfast slideshow program it had the same insane saturation. What is going on? Any help would be hugely appreciated.

  8.
I've had my sony a700 for a few years now, and its never given me any problem. Yesterday I noticed that there was some weird cross hatching pattern where there was sunflare in a couple pictures, but thought maybe it was the new lens I was using? Later, as I uploaded the pictures to my computer, I noticed the cross hatching and it was pretty severe (it looked like a screen door imprint on the flare). I took out the memory card, and put the next memory card I'd shot in the card reader. This card came back as corrupted. (both cards were shot within a few hours of each other). I took the card out, put it in my camera, and the pictures wouldn't display. I stuck in the original card (which I'd been able to see) and it said that this card was corrupted too. I put it in camera, unable to display as well.
Is this something that could be the matter with my Sony? I need to have it checked out any ways (tune up) but is this my card reader or my camera? If it was my camera, is it something that they could even diagnose? The fact that two cards corrupted so close to each other gives me the severe heebie jeebies! For the record, the cards were both SanDisk Ultra 2 gigs. I took a card full of pictures just randomly and they are uploading/downloading with no problems. But this is the camera I carry with me to weddings! I want to be able to trust it as much as one can trust a piece of machinery! Thanks for any help or thoughts.

  9.
I used to second shoot/assist for a photographer and she had a little black box that she would plug the memory cards into, and she could transfer the data from the cards to the box, as well as view the pictures taken on the card. I never found out what it was, and I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction as to what in the heck this thing was called, and where to purchase one! :) Thanks!

  10.
I've been wondering for a while, and I just wanted some input on how this look was achieved.
Second picture down
Question: How is the sky blown out, but they are in focus and exposed properly? And if the sky was blown out SOOC, how did she get it to remain blue on the outside left corner?
Terra Tabbytosavit also has a look similar to this:

Thanks! :) Its been driving me crazy and I just wondered if it was an action or what?

  11.
I love Jessica Claire's stuff too, and while I haven't gone to a WS yet, people I know have gone and really enjoyed it. I think its a great way to network with other photographers as well. Loved your site, just wanted to point out really quickly that you may want to check your spelling on a few things- (sorry, I'm weird about spelling!)- on your gallery drop down, the word assistant is spelled wrong. You typed assitant, missed an s. :) Just to letcha know!

  12.
Like the previous poster said, start looking at fashion magazines. Look at the Style section of GQ. Fashion magazines are a great place to find interesting poses not only for the men, but also some original poses for women... (although GQ probably isn't a great place to find poses for women... :) )

  13. I can't open any RAW files in either application- I always shoot jpeg but was

shooting raw due to variable light. What's going on? I downloaded the adobe plug

in but it doesn't seem to have made any difference. Any ideas? Thanks!

  14. So I've had my a700 for a couple months now and I've noticed that even after

formatting the card every time, when I go back to look at the pictures in

camera, a lot of them say "Unable to Display". Has anyone else had this problem?

Any idea of what's causing it or how to get it to stop?

  15. I am looking to assist some other wedding photographers this wedding season in

order to gain some more experience. You can take a look at some of my work in my

photo.net profile or contact me for more recent work. I am eager, get along very

well with people, and professional. I shoot right now with a Canon 40D and a

Sony a100. My email is amandalockphotography@yahoo.com. Thanks!
