I agree with Geoff. I enjoyed reading the article about the 20D vs D70. Ken gave his opinions and, I thought, was pretty clear that in many cases he was talking about his preferences.
I am a HUGE fan of Bob's site and reference it all the time. But I think I'll pass on seeing him naked too!

The kit 18-55 lens is a pretty good lens, in fact, especially for only $100. See a review at http://www.bobatkins.com/photography/reviews/18-55.html
I agree with those saying that relying on an Internet cafe is unwise to be able to download images from your camera. At the very least, get a card reader and hope that the crappy PCs in the cafe have USB ports.

I agree with Christof above. You might also want to consider how you are viewing your images. Have you calibrated your monitor and are using a color profile for it? If not, the differences in color rendition could be entirely the way your monitor is adjusted. Ditto for printing: do you have a color profile for your printer and inks and are you using it properly?
With film, color management is important but unless you develop and print yourself, it's not an issue for most people since the lab takes care of it. For digital, you are on your own and this is new to almost everybody.
whats the worse thing you have had happen to your EOS camera?

<p>I took my EOS 20D to a football game where it got very wet indeed. I hope it would dry out and perhaps be OK. For a while it was sitting in the car with me and the focus illumination light kept flashing on and there was a sort of electrical arcing sound. Anyways, that was the last thing it ever did. Canon said it was "beyond economical repair" so I bought a new 40D instead.<br>
Interestingly, the EF 70-210 F/3.5-4.5 lens was just fine.</p>
