1.
Just my 2 cents: I was in Cuba, shooting huge waves which hit the shore and both, lens & body end up being fully salted. I was using Nikon D300 + 18-200 VR, and I had no problem. I am also using it outside here Northern Finland ( up to -20c) without any problems. It seems to be able to survive in quite a weather.
I cannot compare it to canons, as I havent shoot with them but that 6 out of 26 sound quite high.

  2. Nah, lets be critical. I just hate when everybody thinks that there is some reason to be politically correct. If you think that someones image is piece of crap, and he is asking your opinion about it, why to sugarcoat it?

But when you take this opportunity to be critical, please remember to state why some image is the worst piece of crap or the most beautiful thing what you have seen. There is the true value of critique, for me at least.

Frank, you are welcome. Yinka, levels, color layer, burn / dodge, saturiation and all mighty lucis.

Here is my latest of this series:

  3. No using high pass filter or dragan effect. Edit base is made with lucis, and then playing around with overlay, color & couple of other layers. And yes, you can easily wear out this effect, my point was not if you like it, more what I am looking if you have good tips how to improve my methods to make "cartoon-like-photographs", images where still is a soul of photo in clothes of cartoon.

And thanks for commenting anyway, keep it coming, love to hear what you all think of this photo. ;)

  4. As for me, ZD Back is not answer. It is way too expensive, all I want to get is nice old digital back from ancient history to shoot with 645 Pro and learn how it really works before changing film in.

mark L: What comes to ZD Back, all I can find is "Mamiya 645AFD/645AFD II/RZ67 PRO IID (The Digital Back Adapter HX701 (sold separately)

is required with the RZ67 PRO IID)". Nothing mentioned about RB. So as you know how easy it is to find this info, you probably wont mind sharing a link to it, would you?

  5. So it seems that there is no way to use that reasonably priced kodak back on old pro models.. That is a really shame, with that back you would get nice package for amateur use, as I do not need to print 22-40mpix images. I would prefer digital back although for faster feedback and tweaking my learning curve.

Thanks for all of you who did share your info so far!

  6. Hi,

I have seen couple of times photos printed on metal plates (aluminium or so) in

galleries. I wonder how this process is done, and is there service for that in

internet? They have always been color photos with very strong contrast and vivid

colors. I just love how they look in the wall. Please, let me know if you have

    any info about this technique!

    Thanks,
