Hi
My Nikon Coolpix 995 just strated acting up, the camera LCD displays
the following error message, No Card Present,, even though I have
tried several of my CF cards. I tried to reset the camera by removing
the battery for several days. And when I powered up the camera with a
fresh charged battery, got the same error message. SO,, has anyone
else experienced this issue, Are there any know simple fixes for this
proble,.
It would be my presumption that if I sent the camera to Nikon USA for
repair, it would certainly cost more than the camera is worth.
Any ideas or suggestions ??? I rather like the camera

Hi All
I'm in the market for a Leica 35mm f 2.0 lens for my M6, and have not
had much luck finding one lately. But a local dealer has the canadian
version of the Summicron - M 35mm f 2.0 lens made in Canada ???? Did
Leica really make lenses in canada ?? and are they as good as the
German made lenses,??? and is $1000.00 a fair price for this Canadian
version in very good, excellent condition..
Thanks

Thanks Ilan.
Sorry to hear about your troubles with your new MP after only 4 days !!! That is absolutely terrible to Leica to sent out a new camera with such a poor design and manufacture, absolutely unbeleivable for Leica to do this. Leica said the MP is the most solid and robust leica ever, after hearing all these problems, one has to wonder about the truth of what Leica says. Tell me Ilan, did the Passposrt warranty not cover the repair to your viewfinder ?? Were you not pleased with the service Leica provided

So everyone,
That should of been my next question, what exactly is Lieca doing to seal the eye piece, I wonder why the M6 never had this problem??

Hi
I getting close to buing a Leica MP, and was wondering what the latest
info is regarding the Eye Piece Sealing issue.
Has Leica or the USA Leica Service dept been helpful with this
problem, Do the latest MP's still come with the eye piece NOT sealed
or has Leica addressed this problem in manufacture. It sems to me to
be a foolish oversight on the part of Leica to even have this issue,
which I'm assuming the M-6 did not have, whatabout the M7 ??
What have any you Leica MP users done to fix this problem, have you
sent it to Leica in the US or sent it to an indepentant repair perso,
Dag ?? or...
Thanks in advance...

Hello,
so many, many long yaers ago in Paris, I think the great old cafe nearby where we would meet was Le Dome or maybe Le Couple, I should up my old photos from time, maybe even post some old Paris pictures, all being in B&W of course.

hello all,
I have been receiving the Fine Art Photo Supply email newsletters for a
while now and I'm quite curious as to the owner's claims regarding
the equipment and black & white paper and chemistry he sells. My first thought was,
"Is this guy for real" as his product claims seem quite extrodrinary to say the least. I
must say that I may be a bit cynical, but for example he ststes that the Perfecta B&W
enlarging paper he sells is made in the USA to his unique specifications I did not know
thre were any photogaphic paper manufacturers left in the USA besides Eastman
Kodak and I find it hard to beleive that the Great Yellow Father would make and coat a
custom emulsion for what would appear to be a very low sales volume delaer. He also
claims that his View Cameras are again made to his specifications, but on close
examination of the photos, they sure look like a Tachihara to me. I will state that I hve
no problem if a vendor wants to re-package a product and sell it under his own
private label. I'm just curious if any you on the forum have used his products and were
you pleased and satisfied with the products.

Hi
I have been using a local photo lab to develope my 4x5 negatives, now
I want to begin trying zone system working practices and need to
develope my own films, So friend of mine recommended the Nikor 4x5
Daylight Developing tank to purcahse and get started with. Is anyone
using these tanks ???, and do you think it is a good way to get
started. I do not have a real drakroom lab. I will load the films in
the dark closet and then do the processing in the bathroom with
running water available there. Is this a good daylight type
developing tank to use for 4x5.... Thanks you

Hello to everyone helping,

I just buy some liquid Kodak Rapid Fixer that comes with the extra small bottle of hardener, to use with 4x5 black and white film processing. I was surprised to read in the instructions that that the mixed fixer only has a 1 month life. I always thought fixer would last so much longer than 1 month. Is there any other Fixer that I should use instead that will last longer, and do I even need the hardeneing type of film fixer for 4x5 black and white negatives.

Hi everyone,

I'm contemplating the purchase of a used, but nice condition Caltar Ilex 90mm f8 wide angle lens from a local shop. I understand that this is an older wide angle lens that should cover 4x5, but not with the extra coverage needed for much movements. Does anyone have any experience with this lens and could they please share thoughts about it. Is this lens coated and would that make any difference in black & white landscape photography. The shop is asking $400.00 for it mounted in an older shutter. Thanks Ngyuen "Billy" Kok
Coolpix 995 Problem - No Card Present
in Nikon

Thanks everyone,
Upon close examination, I found that one of CF Card connection Pins was actually missing. I doubt this is even worth considering to have repaired, So the old faithful Coolpix is now R.I.P. in my garbage can until the proper funeral is held Friday morning when the good folks from BFI come and take it away to that BIG camera graveyard in the sky....
