A lot of hard work has obviously gone into this photo.

I like the way the image fades from top to bottom. The effect you have used enhances the fairy/angel/innocent appeal.

Not sure about coffee toning. Maybe tea?

  1. But when you view large the quality is much better. I suppose there has to be a standard for viewing over the internet that has the abitity to still look good on a computer screen (which also kills quality) but still travel around the world quickly and easily. I for one would not look at photos on the net if they were all 42MB tiffs!!

This aside, this is a great image when viewed large. For a shot taken during the day as opposed to sunrise and sunset (when the light is regarded as being better) the light is good and really brings the vibrant punchy colours to their best. Nice composition and the detail is great. If anything and I were to nit pick I would crop or clone the bushes (lower right and horizon right) out of the image to allow a little space around the edges.

    All the best.

Unique to me. Composition using the empty space for the swimmer to move into, and showing the consequences on the form of waves behind and to the side are excellent.

Almost a graphic illustration of the butterfly effect, which I suspect is something similar to what you are trying to show.

Just a simple, but excellent shot.

I think you are on to something but some improvements can be made in my opinion.

I too like the minimalism and the simple tones.

In my opinion a crop should get rid of the aircraft contrail. Sometimes they work. In this instance I do not think it does. Crop just above the horizon, so that the sky is about 1/5th of the shot, the sea the other 4/5th. There is not a lot of cloud interest in this area so try and keep the sky to a minimum.

Clone the two buoys out. Again they are not doing much to your image. These are only my preferences and you or somebody else may totally disagree with them.

    With the very best wishes.

I think the 'out of balance' that Paul mentions is because the 3 arches in the distance are not symmetrical. The person walking by looks deliberate as well. (The step looks big!) That said, an interesting composition with a nice conversion to B&W.

Detail and exposure is great. Excellent use of the depth of field. Colours of the shoes bring out the colour of the sandstone.

To do things differently I would include all (and both) of the brown sandals. Since there is a pair of childrens shoes in the foreground, I would have included a child in the background with the model. The horizon is a little out but its very easily corrected.

    Love the border.

    With the very best wishes.

Thank you for your time. This is one of a hundred sculptures by

Antony Gormley (also responsible for Angel Of The North) that 'walk'

into the sea at Crosby, Merseyside, UK. Depending on where they are

on the beach, the sculptures are exposed and covered by the tide twice

    a day.
