Has your control dial come loose perhaps? Is there a similar shift between other mode settings? If that is the case how about setting the pointer to the one next around the dial.
I don't have a G6 but a D60 and see that Av is next to M, hence my suggestion :-) Perhaps Tv will give you Av?
Hi JC, thanks for the reply..like I said above I'm having canon repair it for me, the dial is obviously faulty and aparantly some have been unlucky with this problem...thanks again for the reply...regards, June.

I use a G6 quite a bit (see some of my portfolios on Photo.Net). Use almost extensively in AV mode and never have had any problems. If you are very sure it isn't some kind of user error (the most common kind including me) send it to Canon Service to get it repaired. The G6 is a fantastic, very sophisticated little camera. I use it a lot for shooting on the street. Good luck.
Hi Gil, and thankyou for replying...I've been using it for almost a year and a half, all my shots on photonet are shot using my G6, just recently been giving me this problem, I shoot amost always in AV..anyway I'm having canon repair it for me, but I did read on some canon forums that others have had the exact same problem as me.
Thanks again for replying...regards, June.

Thanks a lot Tom for replying...I did find the previous reply rather 'odd'...I have looked through Google today and it seems to be exactly like you say...unfortunately my warranty has expired, thanks again for taking the time to reply...cheers, June.
