Not street at all, they'rr underground, can't you see.
Rob, although I'm not realy into the cityscape and architecture thing myself, I must say
that one thing disturbes me a bit.
Perhaps it's just me not looking good enough but still.
Did you perspectively correct some of the images to get the outer lines of the buildings
straight with the images edges, if so, I'dd prefer to see the natural converging lines.
For the rest, keen eye, good pix.

No need to buy a new camera in the near future;-)
Nice tones, good composition.

Really wild photography, good!

And I thought the MP was all about not having the red dot;-)

Unfortunaly the industry depends on the money war brings in. He optical branch is no
exception. Wish it were not.

It sometimes happens when they are exposed to UV.
Sorry, bad joke. No, I've got a number of Leica and B&W UV filters but never had this problem.
You'd better go back to the shop and complain for this shouldn't happen.

As documentary photography is always for somebody?!
It's more likely to be about something, about recording a situation, describing.
Money, where? Tell me!
A number of projects I do are cost neutal because of sponsoring, some are payed but
mostly money is that what goes into he project.
Reportage, portrait and activities outside photography are the money makers.

Should get a starter started.
And get the dedicated amateur at a higher level.
Nothing new to me but, but it's always nice to go through the basics again.
And definitely when it's all written so clear.
Good tutorial.

I've got a d200, shoot raw all the time, never happened to me.
No clue what it is.
And I use the machine for mainly reportage.
I know this doesn't help.
Just very surprised.
My advise is to mention this camera behaviour to the shop where you bought it.
They should know.

A little bit of truth is a dangerious thing.

Hi Marcos,
Bolivia is a long way from the Netherlands, I wonder whether I'll ever end up there.
Your pictures do lure me in that direction. They show the shapes, the light and allmost the
smell of the country.
If I ever get there, there is a big chance I return home with fantastic doc. pics and have
forgotten about the holiday pics. Hey, wasn't your girlfriend with you? No pics of her;-)

Allow me to be a bit rude, please.
Nice pics, not good documentary images though.
A number of portraits and scenery/landscape photographs does not make more than a
nice memory and aesthetic marvel.
Real documentary photofraphy requires a much more reveiling way of depicting people in
there environment and giving more insight into the countries specific nature.
Not bad pics, not unpleasant to look at but just not living up to the requirements of
documentary.
Don't feel offended, only meant as advice from someone that does this more often and has
been facing the same problems in the past.
Think context and keep on removing pics from the series untill you have nothing double
or unclear.

It's the steet and doc forum here.
Using the word street photography is very unwise here.
If it ain't leica M, Tri-X and Rodinal you'll be confronted with numerous sectarians claiming
street shooting is only this. Anyone looking into the lens and your expelled for life.
;-)
Fergus, your pics are in the right thread in my opinion.
You document things, and not to bad at all.
Just keep shooting, keep throwing out the ones you feel les happy about, ad the better
recent ones and build a good portfolio.
Then there will have something of value, growing and evolving.

Why not look for an M6, a lightmeter is practical.
BTW I use a Nikon d200 as well as a Leica MP.
Digi for reportage and anything that requires a fast workflow.
M with film for documentary and portrait for it's unobtrusiveness.
And yes, a Leica does keep it's value a lot longer than most other brands.
I'm wondering how much my d200 will be worth after the launch of the d300 and d3.

Far too young, awfull news.
She survived so many crisis areas, but not the hospital.
Her work will live on.

Nice play with light lines and depth.
Keep it up.

I'm on Mac to but no problem loading the images.
Nice work, good portraits and appealing compositions.
a bit more to read about thinc would be nice though.

The cellphone makes it the more surrealistic.
Is this "Back too the Future"?
A gold medal pic.

I copy that,
a 1/8000 shutter in a film M.
Does Leica read this thread?
Do I buy a Leica M or a Nikon? UPDATE

Your British humour is unforgivable!
The MP however, obolete?, troublesome film loading!, hmmmmmm.
Using as well Nikons ( f100, d200 ) as the Leica MP I can only say that they are different,
not one better than the other.
Leica for the primes, Nikon for the zooms.
Never tested for sharpness or what ever, just use them.
