Thanks everyone. Jeff, you are right. I was measuring the negative size. The image size is exactly
2 1/2" x 4 1/4". Must be 116 or 616. No info in the clear space that borders the image. I know almost nothing about scanning and scanners. Besides contact sheets, is that the only way to see a positive image from these negs? Besides these, I also have a ton of 35mm and medium format negs and slides. Thanks for all the very good information everyone. Barry

Thanks guys. I googled the heck out of this and found nothing 2 3/4". I'll go back and check for 130 roll film and 6 x 12. I have hundreds and hundreds of negs and slides from the era, 135, 6 x 6, 6 x 7 and 6 x 9, plus an assortment of these odd (to me) formats. Is this the best place to post questions like this?
Has anyone managed a job like this, looking through and archiving a mountain of "priceless" negs?

I have found 2 3/4" x 41/2" (7cm x 11.5cm) b & w negs. in my late fathers "stuff" from the '40s, '50s judging by automobiles in some of them. Anyone know what type of film this is and what kind of camera it may have been used in.
They were in an envelope labeled "Elko Border Snapshots, Kansas City, Mo."

Looking for a lab that specializes in b/w film processing and printing: 35, 120, 620 and 4 x 5. There was a woman who advertised on the net. Very impressive. she worked in Oakland and Texas, I think her name is Diane, I cannot fine her via Google. Barry

I have boxes of negatives from the 30's through the 70's inherited from my father. I want to preserve them digitally. They are all types of formats up to the 70's then all 35mm and medium format. What kind(s) of scanner do I need? Will one do the job for all formats?
This is a huge project and my computer and software are at least 10 years old. I have been reluctant to buy a whole new outfit without know what is needed. Any help?

I just found a Champion (for $12.50) made or distributed by "The Camera Guy" in Chicago. It looks like it takes 127 film. Stamped on the inside of the back is "1 5/8" x 2 1/2, 4 x 6.5 cm, any vest pocket film" I could find almost nothing on the net about it. Anyone have any information? Year(s) of mfg., aperture, shutter speed?

I have a Spotmatic F, purchased new in 1971 or '72. Still in perfect shape, and taking great photos.
It is missing the sync plugs in the front like yours. Good find. Enjoy.

I picked up an F3 today. Same problem, only the lower numbers are visible and the ring is very hard to rotate. Very frustrating.

I bought a Toyo view from the auction house. It did not come with a case. Any ideas on making one or converting something from, say, Home Depot to suit this purpose?

Thanks Jeff,
That's a clever idea. I have so many of these, I may try to figure out what types of scanners to buy. Barry
