Gheorghe Zamfir performing live at Shopping City Mall in Galaţi - 01.12.2014 (Romania’s
National Day). Known as "The King of the Pan Flute", Gheorghe Zamfir is one of the
best, if not the best-selling romanian artist of all time. This unprecedented virtuoso has
a fantastic ability to hold concerts on the last string. He is like a Paganini of the pan
flute. Despite the very cold weather, his true value transcends all barriers towards the
hearts of audiophiles. From a musical perspective, I think the last time I’ve experienced
a similar feeling was at a Jean Michel Jarre concert held at Polyvalent Hall from
Bucharest in 2010.

Hi Patrick,
I would like to thank you for your comment. I’ll try to make this explanation as comprehensive as possible. Initially, I had in mind for about two months the split queen which I wanted to use in another image, but I never did. The split queen can have various meanings, taking into account not only the cultural aspects. I leave this choice in the mind of the beholder. I thought using a simple back cover with the lyrics from a vinyl with Violator album (1990) was a good idea. I wanted somehow a narrower depth of field (with that lense, even with a very small aperture in size, which I didn’t want to use, you don’t get enough depth of field from a relative small distance) because who recognizes a couple of lines knows what is all about and the fading words must create a more pleasant view. I positioned the queen below a “random” line… Tell me, why I did so? :) I am also a teacher and the redundancy idea came to me from a subject taught in school: Ecology. I won’t describe what redundancy is.
Well, thank you for your feedback and I hope I was not too elusive.
I wish you all the best and A Happy New Year!
Warm regards,
Leontin

Collage made with some of my photographs taken with my beloved Canon
cameras. For the main picture, I mounted on a tripod one of my favourite
classic 1D bodies with a 70-200mm lens attached on it. (EOS 1D/Micro

Night view of the railway station in my hometown. Given the fact that Galaţi
is a major port on the Danube and an important industrial center in our
country, it was necessary to develop a proper railway infrastructure to fulfil
the requirements of this industrial city. Also, from this location, there are
junctions to the nearby Damen Shipyard.

I took this photo on the outskirts of my hometown where I think is a good
place to capture contrasting aspects of our society. I have not caught that
entire gorgeous BMW. I was also dissatisfied by the fact that I caught only
a part of the dog behind the wall but I was in a restricted area and
immediately came to me a guard asking me to leave and I only did one
photo. Sometimes you have to stop being so disgruntled when others may
live hard times and give you photographic opportunities.
