View from a street in my neighbourhood - over the fence you can see the apartment blocks built during the communist period in the late 70s and early 80s. Despite the outdated infrastructure and their grey kitsch facades embroidered with all kinds of thermal insulations, these apartments are still in great demand, the problem of owning a house beeing quite thorny for many youngsters nowadays.

This image depicts the remaining smokestacks of what was supposed to be a central heating project based on waste burning. The project was launched by IGO Galaţi (Întreprinderea de Gospodărire Orăşenească - Urban Household Enterprise/a subordinate branch of Galaţi City Hall) during the decline of the communist period. The central heating station, which never got to be put into operation, remained in disrepair, thaught to be inefficient even before the fall of communism.

Known as "The King of the Pan Flute", Gheorghe Zamfir is one of the best, if not the best-selling romanian artist of all time. This unprecedented virtuoso has a fantastic ability to hold concerts on the last string. He is like a Paganini of the pan flute. Despite the very cold weather, his true value transcends all barriers towards the hearts of audiophiles. From a musical perspective, I think the last time I’ve experienced a similar feeling was at a Jean Michel Jarre concert held at Polyvalent Hall from Bucharest in 2010. Last night it was a real pleasure to be there though my hands were frozen like a hammer due to my photo gear.

(I made this photo at the Railroad Park in my hometown. My attention was caught by those bizarre colored shapes left in an abandoned pool. During the "grace" period of the communist regime (mostly in the 70s) the park was one of the neatest and coziest parks from our town, being largely maintained by railway employees, but nowadays, unfortunately, it lies somehow in ruins. Despite this, the location is still favorite for wedding portraits and strolls.)
